Sukeng town

Sukeng town is located in the north central part of Yongchun County, known as the "North Gate" of Yongchun County. It connects Wufeng in the East, Chengxiang in the west, Penghu in the South and Dehua in the north, with a total area of 29.2 square kilometers, an altitude of 580-950 meters, 43 kilometers away from the county seat, and 305 provincial highway runs through the territory for 10 kilometers.

There are 7 administrative villages, 39 natural villages and 103 villager groups in sukeng Town, with a total population of more than 26000.

In 2017, the administrative area of sukeng town was 3071 hectares, with a permanent population of 16381.

Historical evolution

Sukeng commune was established in 1961, and the township was changed in 1984. In 1997, it had jurisdiction over seven village committees, namely Guangming, Yangping, songan, Songshan, Songxi, Xili and Dongkeng. In 2000, sukeng township was abolished and sukeng town was established.

economic development

By 2009, the total output value of industry and agriculture in the town was 330 million yuan, 2.6 times higher than 120 million yuan in 2002, the total output value of township enterprises was 200 million yuan, 2.09 times higher than 110 million yuan in 2002, and the per capita net income of farmers was 9875 yuan, 6661 yuan higher than 3224 yuan in 2002.

The main cash crops are Yongchun bergamot, Yongchun citrus, rice.
