Fuqiao Street

Fuqiao street is located in the southwest of Quanzhou City, with an area of 10.74 square kilometers and a permanent population of 34138 (2010).

Fuqiao Street governs 10 communities including Xinbu, Fuqiao, Jinpu, Huangshi, Dongbian, Tianzhong, Qishan, Yanling, Bantou and Xianjing. The office is located in Xinbu community.

Street profile

Fuqiao street, Licheng District, Fuqiao street was restructured from the original Fuqiao town in February 2003. It is located in the southwest of Quanzhou City, nestled in the mother river of Jinjiang River. It is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese and a business distribution center in Southern Fujian, and also the core starting area of Jiangnan New District in Licheng. The street area covers an area of 10.74 square kilometers and governs 16 community neighborhood committees with a total population of 34138 (2010). Han nationality, with Minnan dialect, the town government is located behind Fuqiao Xindong road.

administrative division

After the administrative division adjustment of Licheng District on November 13, 2006, xinfuqiao sub district office has jurisdiction over 10 communities, including Xinbu community, Fuqiao community, Jinpu community, Huangshi community, Dongbian community, Tianzhong community, Qishan community, Yanling community, Bantou community and Xianjing community, covering an area of about 10.74 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 19000 and a floating population of 16000. The street Party Working Committee has 34 party branches, including 19 non-public enterprise party branches. The total number of street party members is 820, including 18 probationary party members.

Historical evolution

Fuqiao street is located in the southwest suburb of the city, about 4 km away from the district government. It faces the urban area across the Jinjiang River in the East. It is adjacent to Jiangnan street in the south, Chidian town in Jinjiang City, Fengzhou town in Nan'an City in the west, and Fengzhou town in Nan'an City across Jinjiang River in the north. Because there is a floating bridge in the area that connects the urban area, it is called Fuqiao town after the bridge.

The Song Dynasty belonged to changtaili, Jinjiang Township, Jinjiang county. Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties belong to 33 capitals. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the first district of Jinjiang County, Xinxiang town and Siwei township. In 1950, there were five districts in Jinjiang county. In 1951, the county and the city were divided and divided into Nantai District of Quanzhou City. In 1958, it belonged to Jiangnan commune. In 1960, it was separated from Jiangnan commune and established mantanghong commune. It was changed to Fuqiao town in 1984. In 2003, the sub district offices of the town were abolished.

There are mantanghong middle school, 15 primary schools, 16 kindergartens, Fuqiao health center and village cooperative medical center and other cultural, educational and health facilities. There are many historic sites in Fuzhou, Xiamen and Nan'an. There are stalagmites which were listed in the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in 1961.

economic development

The area is located in the alluvial plain on the West Bank of the lower reaches of Jinjiang River, with fertile land. The south channel of Shanmei irrigation area runs through the whole area, with good water conservancy conditions. It is the main economic crop area and vegetable supply base in Licheng District. Fruits abound in longan and litchi. With the deepening of reform and opening up, township enterprises developed rapidly. By the end of 1990, there were 292 industrial enterprises. High grade soy sauce and dried longan are sold abroad with a total output value of 87.2305 million yuan. Wanggong Development Zone, invested and developed by overseas Chinese Mr. Chen Shouren, is one of the largest development zones in the region.

In 2006, the industrial output value of the streets was 2.693 billion yuan, the industrial output value of the large-scale industries was 1.088 billion yuan, the total industrial and commercial tax was 45.22 million yuan, and the District Industrial and commercial tax was 16.17 million yuan. There are 288 enterprises in the street area, including 123 foreign-funded enterprises, 165 domestic funded enterprises, 228 normal tax paying enterprises, 27 enterprises with an annual tax of more than 1 million, 15 enterprises with an annual tax of more than 500000, and 12 enterprises with an annual tax of more than 300000. Five major industries of the street are light textile shoes and clothing, resin technology, machinery and auto parts, bags, and construction real estate.
