Lishu township is under the jurisdiction of Lishu District of Jixi City. Located in the southwest of the city. The township government is located in shiyidao street, Lishu district. Lishu Township, formerly known as Lishugou, was named because it used to have many pear trees. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Muling county. With the development of land reclamation, xialishugou village was formed. After the founding of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the Second District, and later it was under the jurisdiction of the fourth district. In the late period of the Japanese occupation, Northeast China was under the jurisdiction of Lishu town. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was subordinate to the Sixth District in April 1946.

In 1956, it belonged to Lishu town. In January 1957, it was put under the jurisdiction of Jixi City and Lishu district. In September 1958, Lishu Town People's commune was established. Later, Lishu commune was once merged with the town to form a "political unity". Lishu was changed to Lishu in March 1984. Lishu Township covers a total area of 117 square kilometers, with 23000 mu of arable land, mainly planted with wheat, soybean and corn. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 19.5 million yuan. The township has jurisdiction over 14 villages, including Zhongnan, Shuangsheng, Xingjin, Fengshan, Hexi, Jianchang, Baoshan, Zhongcun, Zhongbei, Hekou, Shichang, Shuanghe and Houshi. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 12000. There are Korean and Manchu minorities.
