On March 1, 2018, zhangliji township was officially changed into zhangliji town after the inauguration ceremony.

Historical evolution

At 3:00 p.m. on March 1, 2018, an unveiling ceremony was held in zhangliji Township, attended by county leaders Duan Liyong and Zhang Haiping, leading comrades of County Organization Department and Civil Affairs Bureau, all leading cadres of zhangliji Township Party committee and government, and all village branch secretaries. Zhang Haiping, deputy head of the county government, read out the notice of the people's Government of Linzhang County on revoking zhangliji Township and establishing zhangliji town. Duan Liyong, member of the Standing Committee of the county Party committee and executive deputy head of the government, delivered a speech and made arrangements for the follow-up work of the next step. The ceremony was presided over by Duan Baoan, director of the County Civil Affairs Bureau. Comrade Deng Yuhui, executive vice minister of the Organization Department, announced the appointment of the team members of Zhangli market town. Zhangliji township was officially changed into zhangliji Town, which laid a foundation for better social and economic development.

On November 20, 2020, it will be selected into the sixth national list of civilized villages and towns.
