Taiping Street, located in Jiyang District of Jinan City, was selected into the list of Shandong Provincial cultivated land protection incentive townships (towns, streets) in May 2020. Taiping Street has a resident population of 18000, 91 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the whole street, with a total number of 16727 households and a total population of 60940, with a male to female ratio of 5:4.

Historical evolution

Taiping Street has a long history and rich cultural heritage. When Jiyang was established as a county in 1129 (the seventh year of the Tianhui reign of Emperor Taizong of Jin Dynasty), there was already a township level system here. During the period of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Qilin county. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Xinshi (three districts) and Sungeng (four districts) of Jiyang County. In September 1958, ertaiping people's commune was established. In April 1984, ertaiping commune was renamed ertaiping township. In March 2001, ertaiping township was merged with miaolang township. In May, the township was withdrawn to build streets. In August 2017, Taiping Street was established.

Taiping Street is located in the west of Jiyang County, adjacent to Qihe in the west, Linyi in the north, 23 km from Jinan City in the south, 17 km from the county in the East; Sungeng street in the south, Huihe street in the East, Xinshi street in the north, Duoshi street in the Northeast, xuanzhangtun street in Qihe County in the west, Linyi Linnan street in the northwest. Tuhai River flows eastward along the northern boundary of Taiping Street. National highway 104 runs through the north and south, Jitai road runs across the East and West, Jile Expressway passes through the street office center, Jidong Expressway office connects with Jile expressway, and there is an exit in Jitai Road, so the traffic is very convenient. The street has jurisdiction over 6 districts, 91 administrative villages, with a total number of 16727 households, a total population of 60476, a total area of 126 square kilometers, and a cultivated area of 7216.8 hectares.

Traffic conditions

National highway 104 runs through the north and south, Jitai road runs across the East and West, Jile Expressway passes through the street office center, Jidong Expressway office connects with Jile expressway, and there is an exit in Jitai Road, so the traffic is very convenient.
