Xiangyu town

Xiangyu Town, belonging to Dongzhi County, Anhui Province, is located in the southwest of Dongzhi County. It is the West starting point of the South Bank of Wanjiang river. It borders Pengze County, Jiangxi Province in the west, Dongliu town in the north, Huayang town of Wangjiang County across the river, and Yaodu town and Guangang town in the East and south, respectively. As of 2017, it has jurisdiction over 17 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with an administrative area of 22703 hectares and a permanent population of 31106.

Xiangyu Town, known as "the first town on the South Bank of Wanjiang River", is a key town and sub county-level town in the whole country, the location of Economic Development Zone in the East, and the key area of Wanjiang City belt to undertake industrial transfer demonstration zone. Anhui Jiangxi provincial highway runs through the whole territory, along the Yangtze River high-speed, Tongjiu railway, Wangdong Yangtze River Bridge, and two wharves have been built in the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, forming a three-dimensional traffic pattern of road, rail and waterway transportation.

In 2019, Xiangyu town completed a total industrial output value of 10.18 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.62%; fixed asset investment of 1.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%; fiscal revenue of 432 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%; foreign capital utilization of 6.36 million US dollars, foreign trade import and export of 42.73 million US dollars.

Historical evolution

Xiangyu town is located in Xiangyu village, which is named because it is a corner of Xiangshan.

The former Xiangyu district is the first district of Dongliu county.

Xiangyu district was established in 1952.

In September 1958, the District, township and town system was abolished and Xiangyu commune was established.

Xiangyu district was restored in 1961.

In 1969, Xiangyu district was abolished again, Linjiang commune was merged into Xiangdong commune, Xiangkou and Hezhen commune were merged into Weidong commune, and Jiandong commune in Xingang and Yaodu District was merged into Jianxin commune.

In 1972, Xiangyu district was set up and four communes, Jianxin, Hezhen, Xiangkou and Linjiang, were under its jurisdiction.

On February 14, 1992, it was approved by the Department of civil affairs of Anhui Province to set Xiangyu town in Dongzhi County.

By 2010, Xiangyu town had jurisdiction over Xiangkou neighborhood committee, Xiangyu village, Hefu village, Tongxin village, Huashan village, Lianfeng village, caodong village, bailing village, Tongding village, Linjiang village, Laohugang village, Xiangquan village, Huangshan Village, Lianhu village, Xiangshan village, Jinji village, Heyan village and Zhongfan village. The town government is located at 1 Xiangyu Avenue, Xiangyu town.

Lianfeng Village

In 2004, it was formed by the merger of Lianhe village and Qifeng village. It is located in the southwest of Anhui Province, with caodong and bailing in the East, Jiangxi Province in the south, Zhongfan and Tongxin in the west, and Xiangyu village in the north.

Xiangyu Village

It belongs to Xiangyu Town, Dongzhi County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. It is the village where the market town is located, and it is located on the South Bank of the Yangtze River in the southwest of Anhui Province. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the northwest, flows eastward in the north, Yaodu in the East, and Xiangyu chemical industry park, a provincial chemical industry park.

Huashan Village

It belongs to Xiangyu Town, Dongzhi County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. Located in the east of Xiangyu Town, it borders Longgang Village of Yaodu Town, Xiangyu village in the west, caodong village in the South and Hefu village in the north, with an administrative area of 10 square kilometers.

Hefu Village

It belongs to Xiangyu Town, Dongzhi County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. It is located on the South Bank of the Yangtze River in the west of Anhui Province. It is adjacent to Xiangyu village, Huashan village, Tongxin village, Huangshan Village, Laohugang village and Linjiang village.

Linjiang Village

Located in the northwest of Xiangyu Town, 10 kilometers away from the town government, the village committee is located in the fifth group (Liaoyuan group). The village is named because it is adjacent to the Yangtze River. The village area is 12.6 square kilometers.

Laohugang Village

It is located at the junction of Xiangkou forest farm and youqingwei dike, Linjiang village in the north, Xiangkou forest farm in the south, Changjiang dike in the West and Hefu village in the East. There are 14 villager groups in Laohugang village, with a population of 2251.

Tongding Village

Located in the south of Xiangyu Town, bordering Yaodu Town, it is the location of the original third line factory (Hongxing factory). The land area of the village is 20.79 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 110 meters.

Huangshan Village

It is located in the west of Xiangyu Town, 4 km away from Xiangyu town government, adjacent to Hefu village in the East, Xiangyu chemical industry park and Tongxin village in the south, Jinji and Lianhu village in the west, and Xiangkou forest farm in the north. The current population is 1272.

Caodong Village

Located in the southeast of Xiangyu Town, it is connected with Tongding village in the East, bailing village in the south, Lianfeng village in the West and Xiangyu market town in the north. It has a population of 1769 and 468 households.

Tongxin Village

It is located in the southwest of Xiangyu Town, 1km away from Xiangyu market town, and at the junction of Xiangyu town and Xiangyu chemical industry park.

Jinji Village

It is 7 km away from the seat of Xiangyu town government, close to the provincial chemical industry park Xiangyu chemical industry park, and 327 provincial road passes through the village. It is the largest natural village in Xiangyu town. It has 26 villager groups, 1144 households and 3678 people.

Xiangquan Village

It is located in the west of Xiangyu Town, 6.5km away from the town government. The village committee is located in Zhangwan natural village, covering an area of about 7km2. It is adjacent to Tongxin village in the East and Heyan village in the south.

Zhongfan Village

It is subordinate to Xiangyu town in the East, 18 kilometers away from the seat of the town government, bordering Xiaoshan village, Haoshan Town, Pengze County, Jiangxi Province in the South and Lishan village, Madang town in the north.

Xiangshan Village

It is located in the southwest of Xiangyu town in Dongzhi County, about 7km away from the town government, bordering Jinji village in the East, Madang town in Pengze County in Jiangxi Province in the south, the Yangtze River in the west, Huayang town in Wangjiang County across the river, and Lianhu village in xiangshanjiao in the North.

Xiangkou community

It is located on the South Bank of the Yangtze River, in the west of Xiangyu Town, 7.5km away from the residence of the town government, with xiangshantou in the East, Xiangkou River in the south, golden waterway of the Yangtze River in the west, and Huayang town across the river.

Lianhu Village

Located in the northwest of Xiangyu chemical industry park, it borders Huangshan Village in the East, Xiangshan village and Xiangkou neighborhood committee in the southwest, Yangtze River in the northwest and SiGe village in Huayang town of Wangjiang county.

Heyan Village

It is located in the southwest of Xiangyu Town, 9 kilometers away from the town government, bordering Zhongfan in the East, Jiangxi Province in the South and West, and Xiangquan village in the north. There are 360 households and more than 1400 people in the village.

Bailing Village

It is located in the southern mountainous area of Xiangyu Town, bordering Tongding village in the East, Xiaoshan village in Jiangxi Province in the south, Lianfeng village in the West and caodong village in the north. The whole village covers an area of 45724 Mu and has jurisdiction over Xu village, Xiashan village, Waiwang village, Ji Village and kouwang village.

From 2006 to 2008, the total agricultural output value was 123.75 million yuan, 142.34 million yuan and 161.81 million yuan respectively. Economic crops such as edible fungi and tobacco leaves, and livestock and poultry breeding increased steadily. In 2008, edible fungi developed to 11 villages and 47 villager groups, with 109 households producing 4.646 million bags of Auricularia auricula and 4.04 million bags of Pleurotus ostreatus. Among them, 7 households with more than 200000 bags harvested 371000 kg of edible fungi, with an annual output value of 6.68 million yuan. In 2008, 50 mu of tobacco was planted, with an output of 26 tons and an annual output value of 405000 yuan. In the spring and autumn of 2008, more than 8000 live animals and 420000 chickens, ducks and geese raised by more than 6000 farmers were immunized to ensure the immune density. We signed labor agreements with 11 epidemic prevention workers and equipped them with corresponding equipment.
