Wenge Township

Wenge township is a township under the jurisdiction of Jinhaihu New District, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. It is located in the back garden of Jinhaihu new district. It is one of the important eco-environmental protection towns in Jinhaihu new district. It is 27 kilometers away from Bijie City and 10 kilometers away from Bijie airport. Wenge is the abbreviation of "Wenchang Pavilion". It used to be a place inhabited by ethnic groups under the jurisdiction of renyuli, Qixi, Mukuai in Shuixi era. The township governs 8 administrative villages, 107 villager groups and 6104 households. Historical evolution

Name and origin

Wenge was originally named sandaoshui. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), Wenchang Pavilion was built here, so it was renamed Wenge.

Evolution of administrative districts

In April 1953, Wenge and anqing were merged into Wenge township.

In September 1958, Wenge township was transformed into a commune; in November 1958, it was transformed into a management area, belonging to Shuangshan commune.

In October 1961, it merged with Maoli management area to form Wenge commune management committee.

In 1963, the chestnut was cut out. In April 1984, Wenge commune was transformed into a township.
