Paifang town

Paifang town is located in the northwest of Guoyang County, Anhui Province, about 25 kilometers away from the county. It is located at the junction of Henan and Anhui provinces. It is adjacent to Xinxing town in the county in the East, Yimen town in the South and Shatu town in Qiaocheng District in the West.

In 2017, the administrative area of Paifang town was 15411 hectares, with 86066 permanent residents.

Paifang, the seat of Paifang town government, is an ancient rural market. It is the center of political, economic and cultural activities of the town and the agricultural and sideline products distribution center of the region and surrounding towns. Paifang town is located in the hinterland of Huaibei plain, Wujia river runs through the whole territory, there are many tributaries on both sides, and water resources are extremely rich.

Economic overview

Yanxiaomiao sluice and Daliang sluice cross Wujiahe River and Honggou River, cut off the upstream water flow, raise the existing water storage level, and provide convenient conditions for comprehensive agricultural development. On the basis of the former Party committee and government's construction of 40 km oil road around the town, the current Party committee and government started to implement 10 km national debt project, 3 km access project and 40.8 km village access project from 2005 to 2006, with a total investment of 16.92 million yuan. Since 2006, on the basis of renovating the original oil road, more than 50 kilometers of asphalt pavement has been built. Paiyi highway and paicao highway connect the main traffic arteries leading to the whole country, extending the external traffic of the memorial archway in all directions. The town is a national land consolidation project area. The main food crops are wheat, corn, red taro and soybean. The economic crops are watermelon, mint, cotton, sesame and peanut. It is rich in high-quality wheat, a variety of vegetables and Chinese herbal medicines. Animal husbandry, which is mainly composed of pigs, cattle and sheep, has developed rapidly. The town is rich in garlic, dried moss and other vegetables and traditional Chinese medicine; wheat, corn, red taro, soybeans and other food crops, the planting area has formed a scale advantage; the benefit is obvious.
