Nanlugu Township

Nanl ü Gu Xiang is located in the north of Congtai District, Handan City, at the junction of Yongnian District in the north. Beijing Shenzhen Expressway and Qingyin Expressway meet. The township government is located in dongzhaoli village. It covers an area of 26.17 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 33059 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages.

Evolution of organizational system

In the Ming Dynasty, nanlugu Township belonged to Zhaoxian Township, while in the Qing Dynasty, it was led by luyingbao, renliugu, pimiaotun, Lvgu, wuliugu, xieliugu, haoliugu, bailiugu, xizhaoli, dongzhaoli, chailiugu and Jiacun. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it still followed the old system. In 1928, the county was divided into five districts. Most of the villages in nanlugu Township belong to the Fifth District (North District). After liberation in 1945, it belonged to the first district of Handan county. In 1953, it built xizhaoli Township and pimiaotun Township, and in 1956, it merged into pimiaotun township. In August 1958, Handan county was abolished, and nanlugu township was incorporated into Yongnian County, belonging to the nanlugu management area of Zhoucun commune. Nanlugu commune was established in 1961. In December 1962, the organizational system of Handan county was restored, and nanlugu commune returned to Handan county. In 1984, it was converted to township. In 1996, Jiacun township was incorporated into the city. In 2010, with an area of 26.5 square kilometers and a population of 33000, it was under the jurisdiction of Congtai District of Handan City on September 30, 2016.
