Laibang town

Laibang town is located in the center of Yuexi County. It is a traffic fortress in the central and western part of Yuexi County, and also a central market town in Yuexi County. It covers an area of 134.78 square kilometers (2017). It is adjacent to Yuexi County Economic Development Zone in the East, miaodaoshan National Forest Park in the south, Mingtang mountain and Sikong mountain in the West and Yaoluoping National Nature Reserve in the north. 23km away from the county, national highway 318 and provincial highway 209 meet in the town, which is the only way for 150000 people from nine towns in the southwest and northwest of Yuexi county to travel to and from the county. In July 2019, Laibang town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

Tea

There are more than 10 tea processing plants in Huadun, Gongshan, Huanghua, Mayuan and Nanshan, with an annual output of 84 tons of dry tea and an output value of 3.2 million yuan. The "Yuexi Cuilan" of Huadun tea factory has won the certificate of natural pollution-free green food issued by the Ministry of agriculture, and is one of the top ten famous teas in China. Huadun village is a professional tea village. The assets of the association have reached 317000 yuan, with one registered trademark, one production technology standard and two provincial famous brands. The per capita income of tea in the whole village reached 1200 yuan, and the per capita income of member households was 400 yuan higher than that of local farmers who did not participate in the association. With the expansion of processing capacity, the economic benefits of the association are getting better and better. It is estimated that in 2011, the tea income of the whole village will reach more than 1 million yuan, and the single income of tea per capita will reach about 3000 yuan. The village tea production will usher in rapid development, and will drive the regional industrial upgrading, promote the county tea production development.

Sericulture

The existing mulberry garden covers an area of 7500 mu, with an annual silkworm production of 20000 boxes, cocoon production of 800000 kg, and corresponding drying capacity. It is the largest town of sericulture production in Anhui Province.
