The main minerals discovered in the town are limestone, anthracite and iron ore. the reserves of limestone suitable for building materials reach 680 million tons, mainly distributed in the mountain farms of Baxiong, Langdong mountain in Donghong administrative village, Zhangtang, Huangliu, Zhangwa, Liuheng and other administrative villages in the east of Huangshan Mountain, and Qingshan mountain in the east of the town. The reserves of limestone for cement production are 380 million tons. In December 2003, Anhui runji Cement Co., Ltd. invested 290 million yuan to build a runji cement plant at the foot of Niutoushan.
