Gulai town

Gulai town is located in the northwest of Shengzhou City, 21 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Chongren town in the East, Wangyuan and Zhuxi Township in the south, Zhuji City in the West and Keqiao District in the north. It is a typical mountain town. It is named after "Shungeng here, tianjiangjiagu". The town covers an area of 105.01 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 24237 (2017). History of construction

In the first year of Tang Zhenguan (627), the county set up Township and Li, which governed 40 townships. Shigulai and other places belonged to Fushun township. According to Jiatai's Kuaiji annals, "the county governed 27 townships, 133 Li, which belonged to Zhengshun township at that time, and the fourth Li was Changjing, Xin'an, Wenquan and Ciwu.".
