Balidian town

Balidian Town, located in Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is closely connected with the urban area. It is adjacent to the main lake in the north, Hangzhou in the south, and Zhili mall in China in the East. It is 150 kilometers away from Shanghai. Changhushen golden waterway flows through the hinterland of the town, and national highway 318 and Huzhi Avenue run through the whole territory. The transportation is convenient and the geographical location is superior.

On September 11, 2019, balidian town was selected as "top 100 comprehensive competitiveness of Chinese towns in 2018". In October 2019, it was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

The town covers an area of 121.7 square kilometers (2017), with 35 administrative villages and a population of 75293 (2017). There are 62 enterprises in the town. In 2003, the GDP of the town was 1.93 billion yuan, the total output value of industry and agriculture was 7.38 billion yuan, and the per capita income of farmers was 6600 yuan. For three consecutive years, the economy has always ranked in the top five of the city and won the title of "top 100 towns" of the province. In 2004, it was rated as one of the top 100 towns in Zhejiang Province and ranked 361 among the top 1000 towns in China. In 2008, the total output value was 31.238 billion yuan, an increase of 20.76%, including 303 million yuan in the primary industry, 28.406 billion yuan in the secondary industry and 2.529 billion yuan in the tertiary industry, an increase of 5.21%, 21.69% and 13.05%, respectively. In 2007, the per capita net income of farmers reached 10125 yuan. In 2008, the per capita net income of farmers increased to 11378 yuan. Balidian town has a long history and unique tourism resources. Silk fabrics and rice hubs unearthed from qianshanyang site more than 4700 years ago; stone tools from the Shang and Zhou dynasties unearthed from Pishan site have left traces of slash and burn cultivation of ancestors; the ancient pagodas built in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties are preserved on Daishan mountain, becoming one of the six existing pagodas in Huzhou City.
