Luxixiang

Luxixiang is a township under the jurisdiction of Dongtou District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a key marine fishing base in Dongtou district and one of the rear supply bases of Wenzhou Cailanzi project. It is located in the northeast of Dongtou Island, 16.4km away from the county seat, on Luxi island. It is built on the island and named after the island. The famous bird island on the sea is located here. It faces the East China Sea in the East and south, Guanyin reef on Damen island in the West and Yuhuan County in Taizhou in the north.

Overview of jurisdiction

The area under its jurisdiction includes 12 uninhabited islands and 26 reefs, such as North Lantau, South Lantau, Caoli Lantau, Caoyu, Bailong Lantau and Maoshan Lantau, with a land area of 10.06 square kilometers (10.03% of the total area of the county). Luxi island is 6.7 km long from east to west, 1.3 km wide from north to south, and 32.75 km long. It has jurisdiction over six administrative villages, with a total permanent population of 7355 in 2000, and speaks Wenzhou dialect. In 2006, the total social output value of the township was 268.3857 million yuan, including 215.78 million yuan of fishery output value and 8014 yuan of per capita income of farmers and fishermen.

Luxixiang has 245 large and small boats, 198 of which are boats; there are 10 related supporting enterprises derived from fishery, and 52 other supporting service individuals. It has basically formed a fishery industry pattern of integration of production, supply and marketing based on port, fishing, perfect rear supply chain and market. The infrastructure of Luxi township is improving day by day, with a landfill with capacity of 200000 tons and a treatment tank with capacity of 120 tons of sewage per day. Fishermen's awareness of environmental protection has been further improved, forming a construction pattern of villages with squares and green grass everywhere. The fishing village is beautiful, the economy is prosperous, and the life is well-off. Luxi village has also been rated as one of the top ten charming villages in Wenzhou City.

industrial structure

Ship building and oil transfer will become a new industry in the township. The two ship repair and construction enterprises in the township have comprehensive business such as ship construction, discount, maintenance and special ship manufacturing, with an annual output value of more than 5 million yuan. There are 5 oil depots in the township, with an annual oil supply of more than 30000 tons. Luxi will become a transit place for oil products radiating southeast Zhejiang coast.

Transportation guide

Luxi island comprehensive transportation terminal is located in the southwest coast of Luxi Island, Dongtou District, near Luxi fishing port. It has one 500 gross tonnage car ferry ro ro berth, two 300 gross tonnage passenger berths and corresponding supporting facilities. The designed carrying capacity is 30000 vehicles per year and 410000 passengers per year.
