Niyu Street

Niyu street is under the jurisdiction of Dongtou District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Niyu street is located on the west side of the central part of Dongtou archipelago. It covers an area of 11.5 square kilometers and has a population of 12900 (at the end of 2008). It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages and 134 natural villages in Budao, Tongao, Shangshe, Xiashe, shiziao, Tongxing, Zhengao, xialang, langet al. And changkengling. The office is located at No.2 Binhai North Road, butao village, 11km southeast from Beiao town. There is a wharf in butao village.

Historical evolution

Dongao township was built at the beginning of liberation. In 1953, Yuhuan County was assigned to Dongtou County. In 1986, Niyu township was abolished and Ninan Township and Nibei Township were established. In 1996, Ninan township has a land area of 4.9 square kilometers and a population of 6000. The township government is located in Zhengao village, which governs four administrative villages, namely Zhengao, Lang, xialang and changkenglong. The jurisdiction also includes three uninhabited islands and 12 reefs, including xiaoniyu, Huangyu and tianaoyu. The land area of Nibei township is 6.6 square kilometers and the population is 7000. The township government is located in Budao village, which governs Budao, Tongao, Shangshe, Xiashe and shikenglong Ziao and guancaiao are six administrative villages, and the jurisdiction also includes four uninhabited islands and 11 reefs, including shenmenshan Island, qianmenshan Island, ruoli island and aoweiyu. At the end of 2001, the system of Ninan Township and Nibei township was abolished, and Niyu township was merged and established, with 10 villages under its jurisdiction. The township government was stationed at No. 2 Binhai North Road (the former site of Nibei township). In 2011, the township was removed and the streets were set up.
