Gaotangling Street

Gaotangling street, belonging to Wangcheng District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, is located in the middle of Wangcheng District, at the lower reaches of Xiangjiang River and the southern edge of Dongting Lake Plain, about 20 kilometers away from the main urban area of Changsha City. It is the seat of Wangcheng district government. Only 16 kilometers away from Changsha Municipal Party committee and government, it is the political, economic and cultural center of Wangcheng district.

Xinkang Township and gaotangling Street are merged into gaotangling street. After the merger, the district has a total area of 69 square kilometers and a total population of about 90000. It has jurisdiction over 11 villages and 10 communities. The original gaotangling district office is set as the neighborhood office.

Historical evolution

Gaotangling street was formerly known as gaotangling Town, which belonged to Longtan Township and Qing'an Township in 1951. In 1958, it belonged to Gushan commune. Gaotangling commune was established in 1961. In January 1979, from gaotangling commune, Shengli and Gaotang second brigade were set up to build Chengguan town. In 1984, gaotangling commune was changed into gaotangling township. In May 1984, gaotangling commune was withdrawn and merged into Chengguan town. In June 1995, "Chengguan town" was renamed "gaotangling town". on July 20, 2012, the township administrative division of Wangcheng District in Changsha City made an adjustment, canceling gaotangling town and establishing gaotangling street. Gaotangling street is under the jurisdiction of the former administrative region of gaotangling town. Gaotangling Street governs 9 community neighborhood committees and 4 villages with a total area of 42.61 square kilometers and a total population of 98900. The office is located at 107 Guoliang North Road (the former residence of gaotangling Town People's Government). on August 28, 2012, Wangcheng District of Changsha City further adjusted the administrative divisions of gaotangling, Xingcheng, T-shaped and Huangjin streets, dividing the four streets into 10 streets, among which gaotangling street was divided into gaotangling and yujiapo streets. Gaotangling street has a total area of 21.47 square kilometers under the jurisdiction of 7 community neighborhood committees and 2 organic villages. in 2015, Wangcheng District of Changsha City carried out Township zoning adjustment, and established gaotangling street by combining Xinkang Township with gaotangling street.
