Qidu Street

Qidu street is located at the east end of Lucheng District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. It is an alluvial plain island in the lower reaches of Oujiang River. It overlooks Wenzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in the South and Wuniu street in Yongjia County in the north. It covers an area of 23.9 square kilometers and has a population of 9700 (at the end of 2008). It is 13 kilometers away from Wenzhou City and 18 kilometers away from Yongjia County. Wenzhou Bridge of Shen Hai Expressway passes through the island.

Administrative jurisdiction

Qidu Street governs 6 administrative villages and 6 natural villages, including laotu, Yinzhou, qiansha, Banqiao, Zhangli and Shangsha. The office is located at 2-3 laotu South Road.

Historical evolution

In 1949, it became Qidu township. In 1961, it was changed into commune. In 1984, it was restored to township. In 1992, it was changed into Qidu Town. Located in the southeast of Yongjia County. In 1997, it covers an area of 12.7 square kilometers and has a population of 12000. It governs six administrative villages: laotu, Yinzhou, qiansha, Banqiao, Zhangli and Shangsha. The town government is stationed in laotu village. In 2001, Qidu Town of Yongjia County was put under the jurisdiction of Lucheng District of Wenzhou City. In 2011, the town was removed and streets were set up.
