Hongshan farm

Hongshan farm was founded in 1958. It was originally a local state farm. In 1982, it was transferred to BINGTUAN. In 2004, it merged with the former Hongxing No.1 ranch to form the Hongshan farm center. The farm is located in Balikun County, Hami Prefecture, Xinjiang. It is the largest agricultural and animal husbandry farm of the 13th division located in the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain.

The total area is 4.89 million mu, including 88000 mu of cultivated land, 12000 mu of horticultural area and 4.21 million mu of grassland. At the end of 2014, the total population was 11318, including 2442 ethnic minorities, accounting for 22% of the total population. Kazak is the main ethnic minority, accounting for 98.1%. There are 3154 on-the-job workers and 5100 permanent residents.

Among them, there are 2 wind power projects, 3 coal chemical projects, 1 logistics project, and 2 completed projects, with an annual capital of 1.8 billion yuan. The industrial output value of the whole year was 1.258 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 107%, and the industrial added value was 520 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 108%. The process of agricultural modernization was accelerated. In 2014, the sown area was 53700 mu, including 50300 mu of wheat with an average yield of 530kg. Potato is 1476 mu with an average yield of 2.47 tons. 1935 mu of open field vegetables and 9675 tons of vegetables. Due to the severe freezing injury in spring, the grape yield decreased by 5428 tons compared with 2013. In 2018, 3249 tons of grapes will be sold. The total output of jujube is 391 tons. Five agricultural and industrial cooperatives were developed, including one fruit and vegetable planting cooperatives, four poultry breeding cooperatives, 305 members of farmers' cooperatives, and 458 non member farmers. Animal husbandry sold 23000 heads in the whole year, with 79000 heads on hand at the end of the year, with 2560 tons of meat and 1980 tons of milk.
