WANYING town is subordinate to Dafeng District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. WANYING town is located in the south central part of Dafeng District, Yancheng City. Chen Li highway, a provincial highway, passes through the area. Name and origin

In 1728, in order to strengthen coastal defense, Yandun was built here, which was named wanyingdun. The town is named after Yandun.

Evolution of administrative districts

WANYING township was established in 1938 as the Ninth District of Dongtai county. In 1942, WANYING township was transferred from Xiaohai district to Chuangang district. In 1948, WANYING district was planned to be built in the west of Chuangang District, and shenzao district was planned to be built in the south of Xiaohai District in the same year, belonging to Taipei County.
