Lianyun Street
Lianyun sub district office is located in Lianyungang port, formerly known as Laoyao. It was named Lianyun after the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933). The two words "Liandao" and "Yuntaishan" have the meaning of "civilian sailing ships, Lianyun, maritime prosperity".
Historical evolution
In 2003, with the approval of Jiangsu provincial government, Lianyungang town was abolished and Lianyun street was established. In February 2005, the municipal government approved the merger with the original Taoan street to establish a new Lianyun street.
geographical position
Lianyun street is located in the east of Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, bordering on the Yellow Sea. The Longhai and Lanxin railways, which cross the East-West arteries of China, extend westward. Lianyun street has become the east bridgehead of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge.
