Hanjiang District (H á n) belongs to Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Yangzhou municipal Party committee and Yangzhou Municipal People's government are located in the central part of Jiangsu Province, the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, Shanghai in the East, Nanjing in the west, the Yangtze River in the south, huaishui in the north, and the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal in the middle.
Hanjiang has a history of more than 2500 years, which is named after Wu Wang Fu's difference in opening Hangou and building Hancheng. Hanjiang is the birthplace of ancient Yangzhou. The word "Han" means "the ancient city by the water". It is known as "the famous capital of huaizuo" and "the best place in the west of Zhuxi". It is embedded in Shugang Slender West Lake, a national 5A scenic spot. In 486 BC, Hanjiang got its name because of the opening of Hangou and the construction of Hancheng by the king of Wu.
History of construction
The ancient Hanjiang River is adjacent to the river and the sea. It is the eastern border of "Shugang ancient land". In the Neolithic age, the ancestors lived and multiplied in it.
At the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Huaiyi began to build Gan state, and later changed its name to Han state. In the 34th year of King Jing of Zhou Dynasty (486 BC), King Fu of Wu opened Hangou and built Hancheng.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, this place belonged to Wu, Yue and Chu states successively. In the second year of King Zhou Shenliang (319 BC), King Huai of Chu set up Guangling in the former site of Hancheng.
In the 24th year of the reign of the king of Qin (223 BC), the state of Chu was destroyed by Qin, and Guangling was attached to Qin.
In the Han Dynasty, Guangling county and Jiangdu county were the two counties.
During the Three Kingdoms period, Guangling county and Jiangdu county were abandoned. Their land first belonged to Wu and then to Wei.
In the Jin Dynasty, this area first belonged to Guangling County, Jiangdu county and Yu County, then to Guangling county and Jiangdu county. During the northern and Southern Dynasties, it was still Guangling county and Jiangdu county.
In 598, Guangling county was changed to Hanjiang County, which was the beginning of the name of Hanjiang county. In the first year of Daye (605), Hanjiang county was changed into Jiangyang county.
In 620, Jiangyang county was merged into Jiangdu county. Zhenguan eighteen years (644), Jiangdu County Hedu sub canal (Guhan ditch) east of nine townships, Li Jiangyang county. In the first year of Yongchun (682), Yangzi county was divided into the west of Jiangdu county and the south of Qujiang in Jiangyang county. At present, the southeast of Hanjiang District belongs to Jiangyang County, the West and southwest belong to Yangzi County, and the rest belong to Jiangdu county. Yangzi county was later transferred to Yizheng new town and changed into Yongzhen County, which was later abandoned.
In 937, the first year of Li Minsheng in the Southern Tang Dynasty, Jiangyang county was changed to Guangling county. Now Guangling county is in the southeast of the territory, and Jiangdu county is the rest.
In the early Northern Song Dynasty, Hanjiang was established in the Five Dynasties. In the fifth year of Xining (1072), Guangling county was merged into Jiangdu county. In the first year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127), Guangling county was restored. Now Guangling county is in the southeast of the territory, and Jiangdu county is the rest.
At the beginning of Yuan Dynasty, Guangling county was merged into Jiangdu County, and the territory belonged to Jiangdu county.
In the Ming Dynasty, the territory was under the jurisdiction of Jiangdu county.
In 1731, Ganquan County was established in the West and north of Jiangdu county. Ganquan County is located in the north and Jiangdu County in the south.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Ganquan County was incorporated into Jiangdu county. On December 14, 1937, the Japanese army occupied Yangzhou, and the Jiangdu County organs of the national government withdrew from Yangzhou City and moved to the countryside. In the following year, the cities and towns were gradually under the jurisdiction of Jiangdu County, the puppet regime.
In July 1940, the Anti Japanese democratic regime was established in Jiangdu county. In February 1942, the Anti Japanese democratic regime Huxi Office (county level) was established. Now Huxi area (from the north end of Shaobo lake to the south along the west line of the ancient canal to Guazhou) belongs to it. In June 1943, the Huxi office and the Shuinan office merged to establish Ganquan County, and the Huxi area was even more Ganquan County. In September 1944, Yiyang County was established in the southeast of Ganquan County and the east of Yizheng county. Now, the area from the south of yangjiamiao to Guazhou is under Yiyang County. In August of the next year, Yiyang County was abolished after the victory of the Anti Japanese war.
In September 1946, Ganquan County government was ordered to withdraw from the north, and then it belonged to Jiangdu County, the national government.
In April 1948, Dongnan county was established, and Huxi area belonged to it. In December, Dongnan county was changed into Yiyang County.
On January 25, 1949, Yangzhou city was liberated, and on April 23, the whole territory was liberated. From February to June of the same year, Huxi area is now included in Yangzhou city.
On October 1, 1949, new China was founded, still inheriting the old system.
On August 5, 1950, the territory was originally Yangzhou City, and it was zoned Jiangdu county.
On March 9, 1956, Hanjiang county was built in the southwest of Jiangdu County, following the name of Hanjiang County in Sui Dynasty.
On September 5, 1958, Hanjiang county was abolished and its land was incorporated into Yangzhou city. On October 20, 1962, the organizational system of Hanjiang county was restored.
In March 1983, the system of city governing county was implemented, and Hanjiang county was subordinate to Yangzhou city. In the same month, Yangzhou suburban district office was established.
On December 21, 2000, with the approval of the State Council, Hanjiang county was abolished and Hanjiang District of Yangzhou city was established as the administrative region of Hanjiang county.
In December 2002, the suburb of Yangzhou city was renamed Weiyang District of Yangzhou city.
In November 2011, Hanjiang District and Weiyang District merged to form a new Hanjiang District of Yangzhou City, which still belongs to Yangzhou city.

On November 13, 2011, with the approval of the State Council, Jiangsu Provincial People's government decided to adjust some administrative divisions of Yangzhou city. After the new planning, the county-level Jiangdu District of Yangzhou city will be abolished and Jiangdu District of Yangzhou city will be established, with the former Jiangdu district as the administrative region; the five towns of Lidian, Touqiao, Shatou, Hangji and Tai'an in Hanjiang District of Yangzhou city will be merged into Guangling District of Yangzhou City; the Weiyang District of Yangzhou city will be abolished and the administrative region of the former Weiyang District will be merged with Hanjiang District which has five towns.
29 January 2013. Yangzhou municipal Party committee and government implemented the expansion of Shugang Slender West Lake scenic area, and assigned most areas of Pingshan Township and Chengbei township to the scenic area. Zhutang, Heye and youyou village in Pingshan Township were entrusted to the Management Committee of Weiyang Development Zone; Huangjin village and Wayao Village in Chengbei Township, Zhuxi and Anping communities in Chengbei Township were still in Hanjiang and managed by the logistics gathering area; Huaier village in huaisi town The village (excluding the original Tanggou village's six villager groups), huaizi village and huaisi community are assigned to Pingshan township (managed by the scenic spot).
On November 22, 2013, Xinsheng Street (formerly xinchengxi District) returned to Hanjiang and Meiling streets and was classified as scenic spots. Zhuxi street was set up in Huangjin village and Wayao Village of Chengbei Township, where Zhuxi and Anping communities were located. Zhuxi street was officially listed on February 15, 2014.

On December 18, 2019, Jiangsu provincial government approved to cancel Shuangqiao Township and Chengbei Township in Hanjiang District and establish Shuangqiao street in Hanjiang District. The former Shuangqiao township is the administrative area of Shuangqiao street. The sub district office is located in Wenyuan neighborhood committee, and its office address is No. 130, Wenhui East Road; Chengbei sub district of Hanjiang District is established. The former District of Chengbei township is the administrative district of Chengbei street.
