On March 15, the two counties were formally merged, and the county people's Committee was stationed in Hunan Ying Town, which was changed to Huachuan town at the same time.

On June 5, 1964, the State Council approved the restoration of Huanan county. The former administrative region of Huanan County, which was merged into Huachuan County, was taken as the administrative region of Huanan county. The people's Committee of Huachuan County was moved back to Yuelai town.

In January 1985, Hejiang district was officially abolished and Huachuan County was put under the jurisdiction of Jiamusi.
