Yushui District, Yushui District, under the jurisdiction of Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the west of central Jiangxi Province, the east of Xinyu City, the middle and lower reaches of Yuanhe River, where Xinyu City is located. It borders Zhangshu City and Xingan County in the East, Xiajiang county and Ji'an County in the south, Fenyi County in the west, Shanggao county and Gao'an city in the north, and is 160km away from Nanchang city. It covers an area of 1775 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the total population of registered residence in Chongqing city was 697 thousand and 100, of which 364 thousand and 400 were non-agricultural and 333 thousand were agricultural.

Yushui District, formerly known as Xinyu County, is the seat of the CPC Xinyu Municipal Committee and municipal government. It was founded in 267, the second year of wubaoding. It was named Xinyu after Yushui in the middle reaches of Yuanhe River. In 742, it was renamed Xinyu. In 1956, it was renamed Xinyu County. In 1983, Yushui district was established within the jurisdiction of Xinyu County, which is a county-level administrative district under the jurisdiction of Xinyu City. Yushui district has a subtropical humid climate with four distinct seasons, mild climate, sufficient sunshine, abundant rainfall, long frost free period, extremely short winter, fertile land and nearly 50% forest coverage.

In 2018, Yushui District achieved a GDP of 26.219 billion yuan and a total fiscal revenue of 3.96 billion yuan.

In Han Dynasty, it belonged to Yichun County of Yuzhang county.

Xinyu county was built in 267, the second year of Wu Baoding in the Three Kingdoms. It was named Xinyu after the middle reaches of Yuan River, which used to be called Yushui. The county governs Longchi villa and belongs to Ancheng county.

In the ninth year of kaihuang (589) of Sui Dynasty, Xinyu was withdrawn to Wuping; in the eleventh year of kaihuang (591), Wuping entered Yichun, belonging to Hongzhou; in the eighteenth year of kaihuang (598), Yichun established Xinyu County, belonging to Yuanzhou.

In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), the new Yu was changed into a new metaphor.

In 1926, Daoyin system was abolished and Xinyu county was directly under Jiangxi Province.

On July 2, 1956, Xinyu county was renamed Xinyu county.

On September 30, 1960, Xinyu county was upgraded to a provincial city.

In 1963, Xinyu City was withdrawn from the city and restored to the county, belonging to Yichun Area.

On July 27, 1983, the State Council approved the cancellation of Xinyu county and the restoration of Xinyu City; on October 14, Jiangxi Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Yushui District, a county-level administrative region under the jurisdiction of Xinyu county.

In 1983, Xinyu town was abolished and a sub district office was set up; zhouyu town was set up; huagushan town (Ganfu Zi No. 206) was set up.

In 1984, Liangshan township was merged into zhouyu town (No. 492, Ganfu Hall).

On December 10, 1988, Luofang Township, Shuibei Township, Shuixi Township and Yaowei Township were abolished, and Luofang Town, Shuibei Town, Shuixi town and Yaowei town were established respectively. On November 26, 2001, Nanying township was abolished and transferred to Luofang town (reply No. 529).

On October 21, 2003, Beigang Township, Dongbian Township and Mahong Township were abolished. Beigang Township and Mahong Township were established and put under the jurisdiction of Luofang town and Shuixi town respectively, and Dongbian township was put under the jurisdiction of Luofang town and Shuixi town respectively (reply No. 271 of Gan min Zi).

On January 19, 2005, Xinyu City approved Yushui district to adjust Chengbei sub district office into two sub district offices (yufuzi No. 4): 1. Set up Yuanhe sub district office in part of the jurisdiction of Chengbei sub district office. 2. After the adjustment, the Chengbei sub district office has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages, namely Qiaobei, laowuchang, maojia, Futang, Duishang, Lingquan (except the group of xiaolukou Village), dongpi and Shengli, and 12 neighborhood committees in the north of the city. Yuanhe sub district office is under the jurisdiction of Songqiao (including xiaolukou village group of Lingquan administrative village), wangkeng, Wangcheng, Xiajia and Zhengjia administrative villages, as well as the neighborhood committee under the management of Xingang company.
