Zunhua City, a county directly under the financial management of Hebei Province, is a county-level city directly under the central government of Hebei Province, which is managed by Tangshan city. It is located in the northeast of Hebei Province and the south foot of Yanshan mountain, surrounded by the remaining veins of Yanshan mountain. The four seasons are distinct and the monsoon prevails. Zunhua city has a long history and culture. It is a "Millennium ancient county" named by the United Nations group of experts on geographical names. It has a chronological history of more than 2200 years. From the first year to the fourth year of Tianbao (742-745), Pingzhou horse Purchasing Supervisor (horse breeding institution) was set up 90 Li northeast of Yutian County. In the late Tang Dynasty, Zunhua county was designated from Yutian County. Zunhua means "following Confucius and Mencius, educating the people". From the first year to the fourth year of Tianbao (742-745), Pingzhou horse Purchasing Supervisor (horse breeding institution) was set up in 90 Li northeast of Yutian County. In the later Tang Dynasty (923-936), Zunhua county was set up in Pingzhou, Yutian County, where the name of Zunhua began. In the third year of Daye (607) of Sui Dynasty, Wuwei was incorporated into Yuyang county.
In the second year of Wude (619), Yuyang county was restored to Wuzhong County, Zhenguan county was abolished at the beginning, and Qianfeng county was restored to Youzhou at the beginning. In the Late Jin Dynasty, Zunhua belonged to the state of Liao. During the reign of emperor Chongxi of Liao Dynasty (1032-1054), the Qing'an army of Jingzhou was set up in the county. In 1120, Zunhua belonged to Jin Dynasty.
In 1123, the state of Jin returned Jizhou and other six states to the Song Dynasty, followed by Zunhua, which was renamed Luanchuan county. In 1126, the first year of Jingkang, the Northern Song Dynasty died in the Jin Dynasty, belonging to Jizhou, jinzhongdu road.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Zunhua was subordinate to Jizhou in dadulu.
In the Ming Dynasty, Zunhua was subordinate to Jizhou, shuntianfu, the capital.
In 1676, it was promoted to Zunhua Prefecture and led Fengrun county. In the eighth year of Qianlong (1743), it was promoted to Zhili Prefecture, commanding Yutian and Fengrun counties, under the jurisdiction of tongyongdao.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the state capital was abolished and Zunhua was changed into a county, under the jurisdiction of Bohai Road in Zhili Province. In 1928, Zunhua was changed into a county of Hebei Province.
In February 1938, Zunhua and Xinglong belonged to the puppet Jidong road. During the Anti Japanese War, the Anti Japanese Democratic County regime was established in the county. The county was once divided into fengyuzun United County, qianzunxing United county and jizunxing United county. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the United counties were abolished one after another and remained Zunhua county.
In 1948, it was designated as a county directly under the administrative office of Jidong district.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zunhua was under the special administration of Tangshan, Hebei Province.
In 1983, the Tangshan area was withdrawn and Zunhua was designated as Tangshan City governing county.
In 1992, Zunhua City (a county-level city) was established and managed by Tangshan city.

It borders Qianxi County in the East, Fengrun district and Yutian County in the south, Jixian County in Tianjin in the West and Xinglong County in the north. In the basin, there is a large plain formed by the alluvial flood of Shahe River and Lihe River of Ji canal system. In the middle of the plain, there is a long and narrow mountain (Zhongdao mountain) from west to East, which divides the basin into two parts. The mountainous area to the north of Zhongdao mountain is called Beishan, the plain is called Beichuan, the mountainous area to the south of Zhongdao mountain is called Nanshan, the plain is called Nanchuan, and the whole terrain is called "three mountains and two rivers". Zunhua city is one of the rainy centers in Hebei Province, with uneven distribution of precipitation seasons. Except hongshankou River in the northeast of Zunhua city flows into Sahe River, which belongs to Luanhe River system, other Li River, Shahe River, Weijin River and Linhe River belong to Ji canal system. Among them, Xinglong County has a catchment area of 382 square kilometers, Qianxi county has a catchment area of 10 square kilometers, and the catchment area in the county is 1521 square kilometers.
