Ancient ownership
As early as 60000 years ago in the Paleolithic age, there were human beings living here. At the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the primitive clan culture began to appear. In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, Fuyu state, a local minority political power under the central government, appeared.
Original name
Later, it was named after the shipyard and navy camp set up here in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 1420, the 18th year of Yongle, 1425, and 1432, the Ming government built ships here three times before it was called a shipyard. In 1656, the Qing government built ships here, and then set up a navy camp to train the Navy. In 1673, Kangxi built the city and set up the general yamen, which became the political, economic and cultural center of Northeast China at that time. The shipyard was henceforth called "Jilin Wula".

In 1929, the government was set up at 34 Yitong street. Chuanying district is the birthplace of Jilin City and the former site of the ancient city. The word "Chuanying" is named after the shipyard and navy camp set up here in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. When Jilin city was officially established on April 1, 1936, it began to use the name of shipyard. On March 9, 1948, Jilin city was liberated and the people's Government of Chuanying district was established.
