Malipo County is located in the southeast of Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, adjacent to Funing County in the East, Maguan County in the west, Guangnan County and Xichou County in the north, and Hejiang province of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the south. Within the county, there are 1 national first-class port, 14 border people exchange points and 108 border passages.
