Chenghua District, under the jurisdiction of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is one of the central districts of Chengdu City, located in the northeast of the downtown area of Chengdu. Located in the east of Chengdu Plain, the terrain is flat; it belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate, warm and humid all the year round, with four distinct seasons. The total area of the region is 110.6 square kilometers, and the permanent population of the region is 960200 by the end of 2019.
Chenghua District historically belonged to the former Chengdu county and Huayang County, and also to Jinniu District and Dongcheng District of Chengdu City. In 1928, the city of Chengdu was officially established. At that time, the Chengdu municipal government merged the urban areas of Chengdu and Huayang counties into Chengdu City. Chengdu and Huayang counties only governed rural areas. In October 1990, Chengdu Chenghua District was established by analyzing the former Dongcheng District, part of Jinniu District and a small part of Xicheng District. Because it is located in the area of ancient Chengdu county and Huayang County, it is named after the first word of the two county names.
Chenghua area is the earliest place of ancient Shu. It has a history of more than 2300 years since the Qin Dynasty destroyed Shu and established Chengdu County in the ninth year of gengyuan (316 BC) of King Huiwen of Qin Dynasty. Its subordinate relationship and administrative division change frequently.
In September 1990, the people's Government of Sichuan Province reported to the State Council for approval, and agreed to restructure some areas of the former Dongcheng District and Jinniu District of Chengdu into Hua District.
In 1997, Chenghua District, with an area of 111 square kilometers and a population of 472000, governed 9 streets and 4 townships. The district government is located in the third East section of the first ring road.
In 2000, Chenghua District governed 12 streets (Wangping, mengzhuiwan, Xinhong Road, Shuanglin Road, shuangqiaozi, Jianshe Road, Fuqing Road, erxianqiao, tiaodenghe, wannianchang, Taoxi Road, Zhanbei Road), and 4 townships (Baohe, Qinglong, shengdeng, Longtan).
On May 27, 2004, the system of shengdeng Township, Baohe Township, Qinglong Township and Longtan Township was abolished, and the sub district office management system was implemented in their administrative areas.
In 2004, Chenghua District governed 14 streets (shuangqiaozi, mengzhuiwan, tiaodenghe, Jianshe Road, Fuqing Road, erxianqiao, Baohe, Longtan, Qinglong, Xinhong Road, shengdeng, wannianchang, Taoxi Road, shuangshuinian), 83 community committees and 19 village committees.
On December 31, 2014, Chengdu Municipal People's government officially approved the establishment of bailianchi street in Chenghua District, adjusted the management scope of Qinglong Street, abolished Xinhong road street and merged it into shuangqiaozi street.
On December 25, 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some streets in Chenghua District (CFH  No. 122): 1. To cancel shengdeng street and put it under the jurisdiction of erxianqiao street; 2. To cancel Taoxi road street and Jianshe Road Street and put the administrative areas of Taoyuan community, Taoxi community, Yifu community and Wende community under the jurisdiction of Fuqing road Street jurisdiction; the original Taoxi road street Tashui community and the original Jianshe Road Street Peihua Road community, Jianshe Middle Road community and Electronic Science and Technology University community belong to the jurisdiction of mengzhuiwan street; the original Jianshe Road Street Jianxing Road community belongs to the jurisdiction of tiaodenghe street.

Chenghua District is located in the Western Sichuan plain, bordering Longquanyi District in the East, Jinjiang District in the south, Qingyang District in the west, Jinniu District and Xindu District in the north. Its geographical location is between 103 ° 53 'e to 104 ° 03' e and 30 ° 33 'n to 30 ° 44' n, and it is located in the northeast of Chengdu. The administrative area is 110.6 square kilometers, which is the largest urban area in Chengdu.
Chenghua area is located in the east of Chengdu Plain, a structural basin of axial depression, with flat terrain, simple geological structure and few geomorphic types. It is mainly composed of Quaternary alluvial plain, hills and platform, only higher in the northeast and belongs to shallow hilly area. Mopan Mountain, located in Shiling community of Qinglong Street, is 594 meters above sea level. It is an extension of Longquan Mountain range. It is the highest elevation point of Chenghua District and Chengdu City. The geomorphic characteristics of Chenghua District are plain in general. The agriculture related part is located at the edge of Longquan Mountain. The terrain is mainly shallow hills, and the dam area accounts for about one third.
Chenghua District has a subtropical humid monsoon climate, warm and humid all year round, with four distinct seasons, warm in winter, early in spring, hot in summer and cool in autumn. The annual average temperature is 16.2 ℃. The annual rainfall is abundant, with an average of 900-1300 mm. The distribution of rainfall is uneven. It is characterized by drought in spring, less rain, rapid cooling and continuous rain in autumn, drought in winter, warm and foggy. The annual average sunshine is 1228.3 hours, and the solar radiation is 90.94 kcal / cm2, which is a low value area in China. The annual frost free period is 278 days, the first frost period generally appears at the end of November, and the final frost period is generally in late February, which can not only meet the heat requirements of cold resistant crops in winter, but also meet the heat requirements of thermophilic crops such as rice, corn, pepper, tomato, cucumber and other vegetables and other plants.
The water source of Chenghua District belongs to Minjiang River and Tuojiang River system, which is located in Dujiangyan artesian irrigation area with abundant surface water and groundwater resources. Shahe, Fuhe and Dongfeng canals crisscross with abundant water. There are many gullies in the area. There is no runoff station in the area. The surface runoff is mainly formed by rainfall. In the plain area, the runoff depth is 441 mm, the runoff coefficient is 0.466, the runoff modulus is 441 thousand cubic meters per square kilometer, the annual runoff depth is 385 mm, the runoff coefficient is 0.407, the runoff modulus is 385 thousand cubic meters per square kilometer, and the annual total runoff is 4712 cubic meters. The distribution of rainfall time is uneven, and the runoff from June to September accounts for 77.12% of the whole year, so most of the annual surface water runoff is discharged as river runoff.
The soil in Chenghua District is fertile, including paddy soil, fluvo aquic soil, purple soil, yellow soil, black lime soil, yellow brown soil, dark brown soil and other soil types. The main soil types are turmeric yellow mud paddy soil, turmeric yellow soil and purple soil formed by Quaternary yellow sediment and Upper Cretaceous Sandy mudstone weathering. The soil in Chenghua District is widely distributed in cohesive soil layer with deep soil layer, and the soil organic content accounts for more than 50%, which is suitable for the growth of various crops.
The groundwater in Chenghua District is rich in natural stock. The total annual exploitable water resources is 41.4 million square meters, including 27.5 million square meters in plain area and 13.9 million square meters in Taiwan area. The water quality of some deep wells with depth of 200-300m is good, and the biochemical indexes are up to the drinking standard. The total amount of natural recharge is 79.438 million cubic meters per year, of which the river infiltration is 53.9503 million cubic meters per year, which is dominant in the natural recharge of shallow groundwater, and the infiltration of canal system is 10.5028 million cubic meters per year.
There are many kinds of biological resources in Chenghua District, including nearly 10 classes and more than 100 families of animals and plants. Among them, there are more than 70 species of fish, such as Koi, Pengze crucian carp, and other rare species, such as giant panda, red panda, golden monkey, etc. There are many varieties of planting industry, such as vegetables, fruit trees, flowers and so on. Forestry is a typical urban forestry, with lush natural vegetation and thousands of cultivated plants. There are many ancient and famous trees, such as ormosia, Cinnamomum camphora, Ginkgo biloba, Phoebe, maple, cypress and Jue.
As of 2017, there are three passenger and freight hubs in Chenghua District, namely Chengdu North Railway Station (close to Chenghua District), Chengdu east railway station and Chengdu new railway station; four starting points of expressway, namely Chengdu Mianyang expressway, Chengnan expressway, Chengdu Second Shuangliu Airport Expressway and Chengdu Chongqing Expressway; and four passenger and freight railways, namely Chengdu Mianyang Leshan intercity railway, Chengdu Chongqing railway, Chengdu Kunming railway.
Chenghua District has formed a road network layout supported by expressways and expressways, supplemented by secondary trunk roads and new community roads. The birth control rate of the whole region reached 99.91%.
