Zhengxiang District, the jurisdiction of Hengyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the west of Hengyang City, starting from the north-south road of Zhengxiang in the East, reaching Zhangshu Township and Santang town of Hengnan County in the west, Yueping town of Yanfeng district and Chejiang town of Hengnan County in the south, and Jiaoshan township of Zhengshui and shigu District in the north.

Zhengxiang district is the political, economic and cultural center of Hengyang City. Most of the Hengyang municipal Party committee, government and administrative departments are located in the territory. Nanhua University, Hengyang high tech Industrial Development Zone and major research and financial institutions gather here. The main tourist attractions are Yumu mountain scenic area.

Zhengxiang street has jurisdiction over seven communities: Honghu, wenjiatai, Lianhua, dayuantou, yanghuiqiao, Taiping community 1 and Taiping community 2. Hongxiang Street governs Xueyuan Road, Lianhe new village, metallurgy, Shiao, Jixiang, honghutang, Nanhua, Hengqi eight communities and Lianhe village committee. Changhu Township governs Lixin 1, Lixin 2, liaojiawan and hengshao communities and Lixin, Dali, Songting and Changhu village committees. According to the sixth census in 2010, there are 298686 permanent residents in Zhengxiang District, including 40531 in Zhengxiang street, 76982 in Hongxiang street, 62028 in Huaxing street, 42196 in Lianhe street, 27810 in daiyingling Town, 30817 in Changhu Township and 18322 in Yumushan township.

In 2015, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (xiangminxingfa No. 17) approved the cancellation of Yumushan Township and the establishment of Yumushan town. On November 18, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (xiangminxingfa No. 33) approved the merger of Changhu Township and Zhengxiang street to establish Zhengxiang street. As of October 2011, there are more than 10 species of wild animals in Yumushan forest of Zhengxiang District, including pangolin, musk deer, tiger mosquito frog, white necked pheasant, silver pheasant and Raptor. Generally, there are more than 30 species of wild animals, such as pheasant, duck, boar, hare, porcupine, tit, dove, egret, snake and frog.

As of October 2011, there are 246 species of plants in 53 families in Yumu mountain of Zhengxiang District, with a forest area of 12736 mu. The main tree species are Cunninghamia lanceolata, pine, camphor, Muji, sassafras, maple and bamboo; the main shrubs are Camellia oleifera, orange, Rhododendron, Jinyingzi, plum, etc. The preserved natural forest communities are: 106 Mu natural Cinnamomum camphora forest community around dikuci, 320 Mu natural wood forest community in South Shanxi.
