Liberated area liberated area refers to the area that overthrows the reactionary rule and establishes the people's political power. Especially during the Anti Japanese War and the war of liberation, the army led by the Communist Party of China was liberated from the enemy puppet rule and the Kuomintang reactionary rule.

In the late period of the Anti Japanese War, by the first half of 1945, the people's army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China had established 19 Anti Japanese Democratic bases, including Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia, Shanxi chaji, Shanxi Suizhou, Hebei Province, Liaoning Province, Shanxi Hebei Henan, Hebei Shandong, Northern Jiangsu, Central Jiangsu, Southern Jiangsu, Huaibei, Huainan, central Anhui, Guangdong, QiongYa, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Hubei, Anhui, Henan and eastern Zhejiang With an area of nearly 1 million square kilometers and a population of more than 100 million. During the war of liberation, the areas of the above liberated areas were constantly adjusted, connected and expanded, and several large liberated areas such as Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia, Northeast China, North China, East China and central China were gradually formed. Among them, the liberated area of Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia developed from Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia border region covers an area of about 100000 square kilometers. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the liberated area of Northeast China was established by transferring troops and cadres from Shandong, Northern Jiangsu, Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia and other places into northeast China according to the strategic principle of "developing North and defending south" of the CPC Central Committee. The liberated area of North China was liberated by Shanxi Chahar Hebei liberated area and Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan liberated area East China liberated area is composed of Shandong and central China liberated area; Central China liberated area is renamed and expanded by Hubei Henan Anhui Anti Japanese base area, which is roughly located in the east of Yichang in Hubei and Xi'an in Shaanxi, west of Jinpu Road, south of Yellow River and north of Yangtze River. In the liberated areas, all reactionary forces have been eliminated, a sound Communist Party organization and its government, army and mass organizations under unified leadership have been established, and land reform and other social reforms have begun. In the liberated areas, the united front of the people of new democracy was carried out in politics, the semi colonial and semi feudal factors were basically eliminated in economy, the anti imperialist and anti feudal culture of the people was built in the cultural field, and the rudiment of new China was initially established. The establishment and development of the liberated areas provided huge human, material and financial resources for the revolutionary war, and provided the people's Liberation Army with strong rear support; a large number of revolutionary cadres were trained and produced, and the masses were educated and mobilized, which created extremely favorable conditions for the victory of the Revolutionary War and laid the foundation for the establishment of the people's Republic of China.
