Selfless is a crime movie directed by Brian De Palma and starring Kevin Costner, Sean Connery and Robert De Niro. It was released in the United States on June 2, 1987.

The film tells the story of federal official NASS, with the help of police officer Malone, who finally defeated the gang boss Capone. In 1988, Sean Connery won the 60th Academy Awards for best supporting actor.

Synopsis

In Chicago in the 1930s, the prohibition of alcohol made the sale of illicit alcohol a very profitable business. Capone, the leader of the gang, used violence to control the smuggled liquor market and committed many crimes. NASS, a new federal official, was determined to crack down on alcohol smuggling, but his first operation failed because of the leak. Under the leadership of senior police officer Malone, NASS rallied and formed an action team. Nash destroyed Capone's underground warehouse and refused his bribe. The evil Capone threatened NASS. But Nash did not compromise, and seized Capone's smuggling convoy at the border, and caught one of Capone's important men. Malone tried to force him to be a witness against Capone, but in the elevator outside the court, the witness and a member of the action team were assassinated by Capone's men. angry Nash goes to Capone to settle accounts, but is stopped by the experienced Malone. Malone got information from Capone's police chief. However, when NASS went to Malone's home, Malone was killed by Capone's killer. According to the clues left by Malone, NASS and others went to the station to ambush. After a gunfight, Nash catches Capone's bookkeeper. When Capone was charged with tax evasion, Capone's men tried to take action, but they were detected by NASS. After a dose, Nash got rid of the killer. He not only avenged his friends, but also got a list of Capone's bribes. In court, Nash cleverly let Capone be convicted.
