How to escape from fire in residential buildings

When the building where we live is on fire, as long as we deal with it calmly, we will be able to fight for the chance to escape for ourselves.

(1) Try to escape from the corridor. First touch the metal door handrail with the back of your hand to see if it is hot, or open a crack in the door to see if there is smoke coming in. If the door handrail is not hot or smoke-free, you can walk out from the corridor. When opening the door, be sure to put your feet under the door to prevent the hot air from rushing the door open.

(2) If the corridor has heavy smoke, you can consider escaping from the window or balcony. If you find that the corridor is full of smoke, close the door quickly. If the floor is not high, or there are objects downstairs, consider jumping from the window. You can also connect the sheets and other things that you can take with you to a long rope, tie them to strong things, and climb down the rope.

(3) If the floor is higher, you can ask for help. Before asking for help, use large containers to get water from the toilet, and pour the water on the wooden door to stop the spread of the fire. Use wet cloth to fill the door gap to prevent thick smoke from drilling through the door gap. If the room is full of smoke, cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel and crawl on the ground. Because the smoke diffuses from top to bottom, the closer it is to the ground, the easier it is to breathe and the wider the field of vision. At this time can go to the balcony or open the window to the people on the street for help.

(4) Don't use the elevator to avoid being trapped in the elevator due to sudden power failure.
