What about food poisoning

Most of food poisoning is caused by bacterial infection, and a few are caused by food containing toxic substances such as organophosphorus, arsenic, mercury, and natural toxins (such as toadstools and poisonous fish). The onset of the disease is usually a few hours after eating, characterized by frequent vomiting and diarrhea. If food poisoning occurs at home, we should treat it according to the degree of vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.

The main first aid methods are as follows:

(1) Replenish liquids, especially boiled water.

(2) Supplement the electrolyte lost by vomiting and diarrhea, such as potassium, sodium and glucose.

(3) Avoid acid making agents.

(4) Take antidiarrheal carefully, and consult your doctor after the toxin is discharged.

(5) There is no need to induce vomiting.

(6) Diet should be light, first eat easy to digest food, avoid food that stimulates the stomach.

It should be emphasized that vomiting and diarrhea are a manifestation of the body's defense function, which can eliminate a certain number of enterotoxins released by pathogenic bacteria, so antidiarrheal drugs should not be taken immediately.

Vomiting and diarrhea can cause a large amount of body fluid loss, cause a variety of concurrent symptoms, and directly threaten the life of patients. At this time, you should drink plenty of water to eliminate pathogenic bacteria and enterotoxin, reduce poisoning symptoms.

If there is no sign of remission, or even obvious water loss, cold limbs, aggravation of abdominal pain and diarrhea, extreme exhaustion, pale complexion, sweating, blurred consciousness, nonsense or convulsions, resulting in shock, they should be sent to the hospital immediately, otherwise they will be life-threatening.
