Emergency treatment of heat stroke

When someone falls down due to heatstroke, different treatment should be given according to different symptoms of the patient.

(1) If it is because of staying in strong sunlight or sultry environment for a long time, the patient with flush complexion and skin fever should be quickly carried to a cool and ventilated environment to lie down, with head slightly raised, take off the patient's clothes and pants, and fan with an electric fan. At the same time, wipe the body with cold water or spray to speed up the heat distribution in the patient's body.

To avoid subcutaneous vasoconstriction caused by rapid skin cooling, the rescuer should massage the patient's limbs and trunk from time to time until the skin turns red, so as to promote the circulating blood to carry the heat from the body to the body surface. If the patient is unconscious, acupuncture or fingernail can be used to pinch the patient's Renzhong point (located at the junction of the middle and upper 1 / 3 between the nose and lip) to promote the patient to wake up.

(2) In case of excessive fatigue caused by a large number of activities in a humid and sultry environment, the patient with pale complexion, cold and wet skin, panic and dyspnea should be carried to a cool and ventilated place as soon as possible to lie down, loosen his collar and belt and keep his breathing unobstructed. Wet the forehead and neck with a cold towel, do not give any other cooling treatment, so as not to worsen the symptoms. For the unconscious patients, after being rescued and sober, they must rest quietly in a cool and ventilated place, and drink a large amount of saline to supplement body fluid.
