The usage of knife and fork in Western food

There are two ways to use knives and forks in Western food: one is British style, that is, when eating, always hold a knife in the right hand and a fork in the left hand, while cutting with a knife in the right hand and putting food into the mouth with a fork in the left hand. Second, the American style, first right hand knife, left hand fork, first cut all the food in the plate, and then put the right hand knife on the front of the plate, the left hand fork to the right hand, and then taste.

When using a knife and fork, pay attention not to make too much noise and move too much when cutting food; the cut food should be just suitable for the entrance, not to fork up and bite; do not wave a knife and fork or point with a knife and fork.

Knives and forks can also talk. Once knives and forks are used, they can no longer be put on the table. Different swinging methods of knives and forks have different meanings

(1) When the knife is placed on the right fork and on the left, the knife is crossed under the fork, the knife edge is inward, and the fork teeth are downward, showing an "eight" shape, it means "I am resting" or "this dish has not been used up yet".

(2) When the right fork and left fork of the knife are placed side by side in parallel, the knife edge is inward, the fork teeth are downward, the head of the knife and fork points to 10 o'clock, and the handle points to 20 o'clock, it means "I don't eat any more" or "this dish has been used up".
