Etiquette in signing ceremony

Signature is an important sign of the validity of a document. When a treaty or an agreement is concluded, there is often an important signing ceremony.

Before the signing ceremony, the text should be prepared, including the finalization, translation, printing, proofreading, binding and sealing of the text. At the same time, we should prepare the national flag and stationery for signature.

The site arrangement of signature varies from country to country. Our practice is to set up a long table in the signature hall, and the table top is covered with dark green tablecloth as the signature table. There are two chairs behind the table for the signers of both sides, on the left and on the right. In front of the seat are the texts kept in our country, and the signature stationery is placed in front of the texts. There is a flag stand in the middle of the table and the national flags of both sides are hoisted.

At the beginning of the signing ceremony, personnel from both sides entered the signing hall. The signers take their seats first, and the others take their places according to the identity of the guest and host and the order of protocol. The assistant signers stand on the outside of their respective signers to assist in uncovering the text, indicating the place of signature, and pressing the place of signature with absorbent paper. After the signer signs on the text kept in his own country, the assistant signer transmits the text and then signs on the text kept by the other party. After signing, the two parties exchange texts and shake hands with each other. At this time, we can serve champagne, and the host and the guest toast together.

The multilateral signing ceremony is basically the same as the bilateral signing ceremony. If there are many signing countries, there is usually only one seat. The representative of the country where the text is kept will sign first, and then the representatives of all countries will sign the text in turn according to the protocol order.
