Yushui Village (also known as Yushui Ancient Village) is located in Chengdong Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, about 18 kilometers away from Meicheng City, Meizhou city. It is a village under the jurisdiction of Chengdong Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province.

On December 27, 2018, a series of "ten ones" activities of Hakka chef project in Meixian District of Meizhou city were held in Yushui village, Meixian District, Meizhou City, with the theme of "Yushui from kitchen · Meixian County in mind". Yu Lifu, President of Guangdong Cuisine Association, presented Yushui village with the first plaque of "hometown of Guangdong cooks" in the province.

Overview of village situation

Yushui village is located in Chengdong Town, Meixian District, Meizhou city. It is about 18 kilometers away from Meicheng in Meizhou city. It is surrounded by mountains and dense trees. The village terrain is slightly flat, high in the South and low in the north. The spring is gurgling and the fields are patchy. The scenery is beautiful and natural. Hakka dwellings are gathered, and the buildings have their own characteristics. There are few modern buildings, most of which are old brick houses, with gray tiles and white walls as the keynote. Although the mountain village is small, there are many historic sites, and the cultural environment is well preserved. It can be called a natural ancient village. In ancient times, it was a necessary place for Meizhou and Jiangxi to trade and circulate. This unique historical and geographical location has preserved some historical and cultural relics for Yushui village. Although the village was built at the end of the Qing Dynasty, it is still relatively complete, maintaining the style of the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The local government is planning to develop rural tourism in the village, and strive to be included in the scope of Guangdong Tourism poverty alleviation project. There are many ancient and famous trees in Yushui village. According to statistics, there are two banyan trees in Yushui village which are more than 400 years old, one osmanthus tree which is more than 200 years old, about 30 pine trees which are more than 100 years old, about 15 meters high and about 50 pine trees which are about 1 meter in diameter. Yushui village has a lot of ancient houses, pavilions and bridges. According to the research, there are still more than 400 years in existence, including 7 Weilongwu, more than 100 various dwellings, more than 10 stone arch bridges, more than 10 tea pavilions (pavilions), 2 Gongwang temples (altars), and 1 temple. There are different styles of ancient houses, such as Weilong house, GangShi building, Fangwei building, tanghengwu, etc. Most of the dwellings are solemn and solemn in appearance, complete in structure, with many forms such as gate, Doumen and flower windows. The Dougong, window sash and skirt board in the house are decorated with wood carvings, and most of the components are preserved completely.
