Bacun town is located in the west of Shangshui County, at the junction of Luohe Yancheng county and Zhumadian Shangcai County, with convenient transportation. It is adjacent to 219 provincial road in the west, high-speed service area in the north, and Fenhe River passes through the town. The town governs 28 administrative villages with a population of 36463 (2017) and an area of 63.77 square kilometers (2017), including 68313 mu of cultivated land. It is a typical agricultural town.
