Located in the south of Qiankou village, Huizhou. It was built in 1544, the 23rd year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty. Tower seven octagonal, bottom diameter of about 10 meters, layers of shrinking, such as the appearance of a cone, commonly known as "submerged cone.". The tower has only two hollow floors. The first floor is surrounded by xumizuo, and the wall is painted with Buddha statues. The second floor is inlaid with a brick plaque carved with the characters "Yifeng" inside. Beside it, it is inscribed with the words "Jiachen, 23rd year of Jiajing, Zhuxi Weng, Wang Daozhi, Jingli". The other five layers are solid. Now the eaves and top of the tower have been destroyed. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Huizhou District.

Historical story

This tower is obviously big at the bottom and small at the top. Why is it called "lower minaret"? In this regard, there is a popular story among the people: in ancient times, there was a well under the base of the tower, which was incomparably deep. I do not know which year, there is a rice eel spirit Gujing king, make a monster, make grain not receive, people complain. The queen mother of heaven ordered Erlang God to get rid of demons.

The eel knows that it can't compete with him, so it gets into the mud and sand nest nearby, and lets the dog roar, or the whip dance, and it doesn't show its head. As soon as Erlang was angry, he took out another treasure called "xiajiancha" from his waist and aimed at the eel's essence. Although it didn't hit the key part of Monopterus albus, it was seriously injured and bleeding.

It's true that the rice field eel is injured, but the trapped animals are still fighting. He dragged the sharp fork and ran into the deep well. He would rather die than let Erlang God take back the treasure. The mountains and rivers tremble, the sun and the moon are not shining. Thanks to the news, Li Tianwang of tota came to help. He threw out a pagoda, calmed the flying mountains and rocks, sealed the deep well, and let the eel live in it.

Erlangshen said, "slow down, slow down. My lower fork hasn't been taken out yet Li Tianwang mistakenly thought that Erlang God was afraid that he would monopolize the power of subduing demons, so he said, "well, well, this demon was defeated by us. Let's call this tower xiajianta!" The legend is absurd, but the old folk say that just looking at the origin of the name of the tower, we can see that the existing ancient tower has a long history.
