Zhouqiao old street

Zhou Bridge, also known as Denglong bridge, was first built in 1245. It is a single hole stone arch bridge with a north-south trend. It crosses the Lianqi river. The stone steps have 13 levels in the north and 13 levels in the south. It was rebuilt in 1998.

Zhouqiao old street, as the center of Jiading City, has been preserved since the 10th year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1218). It has collected ancient pagodas, old temples and famous gardens of song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties in a thousand steps, which is rare in China. It can be called "the root of Jiading". At present, the area of Ximen old street in Jiading had human activities as early as the pre Qin period, and settlements had been formed in the Tianjian period of Nanliang (502-519). In Tang Dynasty, Jiading was named Lianqi city because of Lianqi river. In 1218, Jiading County was established and named "Jiading" according to the year number. Jiading town is the commercial, cultural and tourist center of Jiading District, covering an area of 4.17 square kilometers. In October 2008, Jiading, an ancient town, was recognized as "a famous historical and cultural town in China" by the Ministry of construction.
