Juhuatai Park

Juhuatai park is located in the south of the main city of Nanjing. It is rich in chrysanthemum, and has the reputation of "a pearl in the southern suburbs". It is said that Emperor Qianlong passed here in Jiangnan during the golden autumn. However, he saw that the beautiful scenery of the mountain was extraordinary, so he gladly named it "chrysanthemum terrace".

Development history

Juhuatai park is also a memorial park. Covering an area of 800 square meters, the tomb of nine martyrs in Juhuatai is one of the most important scenic spots in the park. In 1942, when Manila was occupied, nine Chinese envoys were tortured by the Japanese army. They were awe inspiring and unyielding, and were finally killed by the Japanese army. In July 1947, their remains were transported to Nanjing by special plane and buried in Chrysanthemum terrace in September of the same year, so the park was once renamed Zhonglie park. The cemetery is fan-shaped, surrounded by luxuriant pines and cypresses and pleasant flowers and trees. The new exhibition hall displays the relics of the martyrs and the photos of people from all walks of life. It is also designated as a provincial cultural relics protection unit and a municipal youth moral education base. The rockeries, pools and splashing waterfalls in the park are majestic, with dense bamboos, sparse flowers and pleasant fragrance. In the southern part of the park, there are also historical sites such as Tianlong temple, talin, yuruquan, ancient ginkgo in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Bus routes: Metro Line 1 / South extension of Metro Line 1 - 158 minutes, 17 kilometers, 549 meters walk. Walk about 443 meters from Juhuatai park to Andemen (Metro Station) (due north) and take Metro Line 1 (8 stations), or take Metro Line 1 South extension (8 stations) to Xuanwu Lake Tunnel (Metro New Model Road Station), take bus No. 1 (12 stations) to Nanpu Park (terminus), and walk about 106 meters to Daqiao Park (due West).
