Pipa Pavilion

Pipa Pavilion is located on the east side of Yangtze River Bridge in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, facing the Yangtze River and leaning against Pipa Lake. Built in the first year of Tang Dynasty, it has a history of 1200 years. It is a famous scenic spot in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. In 815, the poet Bai Juyi was demoted from Chang'an to Sima of Jiangzhou (now Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province). In the autumn of the next year, seeing off guests at the head of Xunyang River (now a section of the north Yangtze River in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province), there was a person playing Pipa in a boat at night. He listened to his life experience and touched the scene. As a gift of Pipa Xing, the name of the pavilion came from it.
