YANZIYA

YANZIYA is a man-made pass with an altitude of 2200m. The 209 national highway runs through the cliff and the rainbow bridge flies over the two mountains. It's very dangerous to walk on it. You can see the surrounding mountains from afar, just like the horizon. YANZIYA and tianmenya face each other from north to south, next to Zizhu River Valley. On the edge of the cliff, the pine trees are green and the red birch is covered with brocade. Looking at the mountains on both sides of the cliff from a distance, it's like a swallow spreading its wings. It's very enjoyable to sit quietly for a while.

YANZIYA

Yanzi gap is located in Songbai Town, about 35 kilometers northeast of dashennongjia. It is a pass with an altitude of 2150m, and is named after the famous Yanzi cave. It is a national AAAAA scenic spot.

The scenic spot is connected by large and small circular footpaths, forming an 8-shaped circular line, with a total length of 2800 meters. YANZIYA is high and green. It faces tianmenya from north to south, and faces Zizhu River Valley. It is the throat of the traffic between the Han Dynasty and the western Hubei river.

It is 2200 meters above sea level, facing tianmenya from north to South and next to Zizhu River Valley. On the west side of the pass, there are Huixian bridge, viewing platform, Yanwu Pavilion and other buildings, which are full of vitality and beautiful scenery. You can enjoy the magnificent scenery of the sea of clouds and the light of Buddha by climbing the Yan dance Pavilion along the path.

General situation

The famous Swallow Cave is located on the right side of the canyon. The entrance is wide. In front of the entrance is the hall, which is more than 20 meters high and can accommodate thousands of people. On the right is the secluded cave, which is straight in front and curved in back, and gradually narrowed and darkened. On the left is the Tiandong cave, which slants through the wall and transmits sunlight. On the back is the Lidong cave, which is nearly round, more than 2 meters high and unfathomable. Inside the cave, the stalagmites are standing crazily, dripping water and tinkling. What's more strange is that tens of thousands of swallows live here all the year round, no matter in spring, summer, autumn or winter. Their nests are densely covered with cave tops and cliffs, so they are named after them.

YANZIYA is a man-made gully. In order to connect the 209 national highway, 108 workers, called "100 Dan Ba Jiang", worked in groups of four every day and night. They used more than 50 days to drill 27 blasting shafts here. Then each shaft was filled with explosives, and 7500 kg of explosives were loaded into one shaft at zhengyakou. On the day of blasting, as soon as the detonating motor turned, the sound of blasting suddenly shook the sky. The rocks were divided into four parts, flying sand and moving rocks, whistling past, and there was a tendency of overwhelming. After that, this artificial gully appeared.

After leaving tianmenya, the original ecotourism area in Tianyan, Hubei Province, and passing liuxiangzhai, we come to YANZIYA. YANZIYA is a pass with an altitude of 2200 meters. National Highway 209 runs through the cliff. On the cliff, pine and fir are green, and red birch is covered with cotton. From a distance, you can see the mountains on both sides of the cliff. It looks like a flying swallow spreading its wings. Because there is a famous Yanzidong nearby, it is named "YANZIYA". The climate of Shennongjia is based on subtropical monsoon climate. With the increase of altitude, there are many climate types, such as warm temperate zone, middle temperate zone and cold wave zone. The extreme low temperature is - 21 ℃ and the extreme high temperature is 38.5 ℃.

Every year from the end of September to the next April is the frost period in Shennongjia. The climate in the mountain is not very stable. The phenomenon of sunrise in the East and rain in the West appears from time to time. A poem describes the climate characteristics of Shennongjia like this: "the foot of the mountain is in midsummer, the mountain is in spring, the foot of the mountain is in autumn, the top of the mountain is in ice, red, orange, yellow and green, and spring, summer, autumn and winter are the most difficult to separate.". The best season for Shennongjia tourism is from June to October every year.

Resource status

Shennongjia is rich in natural resources due to its long history of geographical changes and relatively closed natural environment. One is biological resources. The existing forest area is 1618 square kilometers, and the volume of standing trees is 2019 million cubic meters. After the implementation of the "natural forest protection project", the annual net growth of forest is 290000 cubic meters. There are more than 3700 kinds of plants. There are 2671 species of higher vascular plants belonging to 872 genera and 119 families, among which 39 species are listed as the first and second class national protection. There are more than 1060 species of animals, including 33 amphibians, 40 reptiles, 76 mammals, 47 fishes, 308 birds and 560 insects. 67 species of rare wild animals such as golden monkey, South China tiger, leopard, white stork and great bustard are under state key protection.

Shennongjia is also the watershed between the Yangtze River and the Han River in Hubei Province. It is also an important water conservation area of the middle route of the south to North Water Diversion Project. It is the largest natural green barrier in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. As the only green miracle in the same latitude region of the world, Shennongjia has attracted much attention. In 1980, Shennongjia Nature Reserve was established; in 1986, it was approved as "National Forest and Wildlife Nature Reserve" by the State Council; in 1990, it was accepted by UNESCO as a member of "World Biosphere" protection network of human and biosphere program, and became "Asian biodiversity protection demonstration area" with the support of global environment facility (GEF).

Overview of scenic spots

Tianmenya, the original ecotourism area of Tianyan, comes to YANZIYA after passing liuxiangzhai. It is 2200 meters above sea level, facing tianmenya from north to South and next to Zizhu River Valley. There are Huixian bridge, viewing platform, Yan dance Pavilion and other buildings on the west side of the pass. Huixian bridge is said to be the meeting place between Emperor Yan Shennong and taishanglaojun. It is said that Shennong is here to persuade taishanglaojun to change the alchemy furnace into metallurgical furnace. There are some graceful pines and cypresses at the end of the bridge, and there is a primeval forest under the bridge. The scenery is very beautiful. You can enjoy the magnificent scenery of the sea of clouds and the light of Buddha by climbing the Yan dance Pavilion along the path.

Tianmenya is the first stop of Tianyan primitive ecotourism area in Shennongjia. Tianmenya is 2328m above sea level, 12km away from Hongping. It is close to Donggou and Haofang in the southwest, and faces YANZIYA in the northeast. On both sides of tianmenya, the cliffs are stacked with rocks, and pine, birch, yew and mountain flowers are mixed. National Highway 209 crosses north and south from Yakou, which is the highest point of national highway in Hubei Province.

Every morning on a sunny day, when the clouds are diffuse or the sun is slanting, the clouds pass through the mountain pass, and the mountain pass is looming; on a cloudy day, the clouds stay all day long, and the car lights and honks when passing in the daytime. Due to the frequent cloud cover and fog around, it is named "tianmenya" after climbing on this cliff.

Liu Hsiang village is located between YANZIYA and tianmenya, with an altitude of 2574m. The village is covered with primitive fir forest, which is like a towering screen, blocking the flowing clouds in the East. In the west of YANZIYA tianmenya highway, the Zizhu valley basin is composed of four peaks: YANZIYA, tianmenya, huanglongyan and taipingya. When the rain stops and the sun rises, the clouds gather over the valley bottom, and the shape of the valley is clear under the cold wind A vast sea of clouds. When the red sun is hanging in the sky, the light shines on the clouds. After several refractions, the Zizhu river forms a world, and the Buddha light comes from the clouds.

Circular footpath

Enter the scenic area from the entrance of YANZIYA and walk up the stone steps to the 2800 meter long circular footpath,

It is built close to the mountain, connecting all the scenic spots in YANZIYA; outside the youbu road is the mountain stream.

Swallow Cave

Follow the walking path to the entrance of Swallow Cave, and enter the Swallow Cave. Because the cave is dark and dark, you need a flashlight or mobile phone with its own light. There will be a flock of swallows fluttering by from time to time in the Swallow Cave, and you can clearly hear the sound of swallows' wings and their chirping. If you are sharp eyed and quick, you can catch the figure of swallows.

Flying across the clouds

Feiyundu is a steel structure observation bridge over the gully of YANZIYA. The steel bridge is high in suspension and long in span. It is the highest landscape bridge in Asia. It's amazing and fascinating to get on the Yantian ferry, the unpredictable natural landscape and the boundless virgin forest. The old boxwood on both sides of the Strait, the simple tulip rock cypress, the vigorous and straight fir, the animals and birds flying in the forest, all are so harmonious and quiet, comfortable and serene.

Traffic tips

From Songbai Town, you can charter a car to visit YANZIYA. Xiaobao is about 300 yuan per day for 7 people. After playing Yantian scenic area, you can also let the driver drive to Muyu. To travel in mountainous areas or places with complex terrain, it is necessary to prevent slipping, falling and losing. We should keep in mind the walking route stipulated by the scenic spot, follow the guide, and do not go to dangerous areas without protective facilities. It's best to travel together to avoid getting lost in the wrong way.

There are shuttle buses from Muyu town and Songbai town to Yichang and Wuhan. The shuttle buses from Muyu town and Songbai town before 7:30 a.m. will pass through the scenic spots.
