Zhenze Park

In 1935, kaitang changed its way and dug a new river in the north of the town to form a mountain. At that time, Shen Zhi'an, director of the New River Association and district head, and other well-known people jointly initiated the construction of a 60 mu Park in Liyuexi.

Historical evolution

It was originally one of the eight sceneries in Zhenze, the old place of "Hongqiao night view", which was well guided by the situation when building the garden. By skillfully borrowing the local features, we dredged the pond, and planted pines and cypresses, which are luxuriant in vegetation, evergreen in trees, and beautiful in four seasons.

In January 1963, the park was first completed and opened to the public with unprecedented prosperity. The hall, pavilion, terrace, mountain, stone, flower bed, lawn and path in the garden are ingeniously arranged to complement each other. According to its scale and layout, it was the largest of the three major parks in Wujiang at that time.

In November 1937, the Japanese army occupied Zhenze, and Yuannan silk industry public school was occupied by the Japanese invaders as the police team base. The school was opened up, and the Japanese devils practiced in the park and killed innocent people indiscriminately. Since then, it has become a forbidden area. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, although the park was restored, it was deserted for a long time, and it was difficult to restore the old view.

In 1956, the people's Government of Zhenze town began to reorganize and restore the Zhenze Park, initiated the young people of the whole town to participate in voluntary labor, and built a new martyr cemetery on the north side of the park, so as to partially restore the landscape of the park. During the "Cultural Revolution", Zhenze Park was occupied by factories, resulting in the garden being robbed and abandoned again.

In 1982, the people's Government of Zhenze town made a decision to return the factory to the park. The layout of the whole garden is centered on the lotus pond, which is spread out to the surrounding areas, and then newly built waterside pavilion, sister Pavilion, earth mountain Pavilion, Square Pavilion, etc., so that the halls, pavilions, pavilions, platforms, pools, bridges, mountains and stones are scattered and borrowed from each other. In order to adapt to modern life, it is equipped with cultural activity room, children's reading room, children's paradise, teahouse, waterside pavilion and other facilities, as well as photography, video and other service units. It has become a good place for young and old people to enjoy leisure, entertainment, talking and morning exercise.

In 1985, the gate of Zhenze Park was changed to the East. In the same year, the fair faced brick wall of the original silk industry association was moved here, adding a simple and elegant atmosphere. The plaque on the door reads "Zhenze Park", written by Fei Xiaotong.

In 2003, due to the reconstruction and expansion of the kaitang canal, the former martyrs' cemetery on the north side of the park was relocated to the southwest corner of the park.
