St. Francis Church is a Gothic double tower church, built by a French priest in 1849, dedicated to St. Francis, a missionary known as "East Asian apostle", in recognition of his great contribution in spreading the Catholic gospel in Southeast Asia in the 16th century.

St. Francis wanted to come to China to preach, but later died on the way.
