Jigong temple is located in Jigong temple village, 26 kilometers northwest of Zhengzhou city. According to the records of general textual research, the temple was built in 748, the seventh year of Tianbao in Tang Dynasty. Jixin is Liu Bang's general. Liu Bang was besieged by Xiang Yu. Jixin pretended to be Liu Bang and cheated Chu army, which made Liu Bang escape. Xiang Yu was so angry that he burned Jixin to death. Later generations built tombs and temples for Jixin. Today, there is no temple left. There are only more than 30 steles to rebuild temples and praise Jixin after the Tang Dynasty. Among them, Lu Zang, a calligrapher, wrote the most precious stone tablet, with six characters of "Han Zhonglie Jigong tablet" on the forehead and official script on the body, which attracted countless calligraphy lovers to copy and write here.
