Jincheng Museum

Jincheng museum is a local comprehensive history museum, formerly known as Jincheng ancient architecture art museum. Located in the northwest corner of the intersection of Fengtai East Street and Wenbo Road, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, it covers an area of 1.6 hectares and a construction area of 10282 square meters. It belongs to Jincheng tourism and Cultural Relics Bureau. The total investment is 38.87 million yuan. The museum is a modern building with double eaves and wing angles of traditional buildings, and a glass roof with four corners. There are more than 20000 pieces of cultural relics, including more than 200 pieces of cultural relics of grade three or above. The most distinctive cultural relics in the collection are pottery figurines of the past dynasties and glazed figurines and Ming and Qing Dynasties.

It covers an area of 1.6 hectares, with a construction area of 10282 square meters and a total investment of 16.41 million yuan. The museum has four floors and is divided into exhibition area, reservoir area and equipment area. There are 10 exhibition halls in the museum, covering an area of 3000 square meters.

The facade of Jincheng museum is decorated with high transparency glass curtain wall from top to bottom, emphasizing the main entrance, reflecting the functional zoning of Jincheng Museum, enriching the indoor atrium space, metaphorizing the Yellow River civilization from the Yellow River water sky, and further infiltrating the cultural content of the building.

The advanced space design of Jincheng Museum has always been permeated with the idea of "people-oriented, harmony between man and nature". The formed landforms are basically used to reconstruct the environment. Overall, the building adopts the progressive approach of courtyard, step by step upward, one scene at a time.

In addition to the exhibition hall, the museum also has other public facilities, such as front hall, preface hall, VIP reception hall, academic lecture hall, youth education classroom, rest bar, etc. There are 12 cultural relics storehouses in the reservoir area, covering an area of more than 800 square meters, and 10 technical rooms with perfect functions for cultural relics management, maintenance and restoration. There are offices, security department, group work department, storage and research department, exhibition service center and other institutions in the library, which are managed by Jincheng tourism and Cultural Relics Bureau.

Cultural relics on display

Jincheng Museum has a collection of more than 20000 precious cultural relics, including 230 pieces (sets) above the third level, including 15 categories of pottery, tiles, bronzes, coins, bronze mirrors, calligraphy, painting, jade, porcelain, pottery, seals, etc. the most distinctive cultural relics in the collection are pottery figurines of past dynasties and glazed figurines and Ming and Qing Dynasties.

At present, the basic display of Jincheng Museum, Taihang soul Jincheng ancient civilization exhibition, is divided into three topics, namely "historical extraction", "Changping battle" and "unearthed terracotta figurines". "Historical extract" adopts the exhibition technique of point to area to introduce the origin of Jincheng's history, religion, opera, historical celebrities, etc.; the "Changping war" uses scene model and modern four-dimensional dynamic cinema to vividly depict the whole tragic process of the war, which is the most important The attractive and appreciative parts are the focus of the whole exhibition, while the unearthed figurines show the most valuable figurines in the museum. The exhibition, through the appeal, highlights the essence of ancient civilization in Jincheng, and won the ten largest exhibition award of the Sixth China Museum.

City New Year paintings exhibition has been held since the opening of the museum. Over 30 odd exhibitions including "exhibition of marine treasures animal", "exhibition of the art of porcelain" and "Jincheng City Planning Exhibition" have been held. Meanwhile, the museum exhibits "exhibition of cultural relics", "Jincheng City Planning Exhibition", "exhibition of cultural essence pictures" and "Wuqiang wood plank annual painting exhibition". In 2005, the exhibition won the "Sixth National Museum top ten exhibition quality award".

As of 2015, Jincheng Museum has more than 20000 pieces of precious cultural relics, including 230 pieces (sets) above grade three, including 15 categories of pottery, tiles, bronzes, coins, bronze mirrors, calligraphy, painting, jade, porcelain, pottery, seals, etc.

Brick carving: painted brick carving auspicious animal, painted brick carving unicorn, painted brick carving snake plate rabbit pattern, painted brick carving flower and bird.

Murals: inscription of murals, pictures of gods, murals of pilgrimage of Taoist gods in Yuhuang temple, Pingshang village, Duanshi town.

Pottery: gray pottery well, gray pottery string pattern shop, first pot, gray pottery string pattern beans, three color camel figurines.

Porcelain: Zhushan bayou pastel porcelain plate painting, imitation of Geyao big open piece Elephant Ear Zun, yellow brown glaze twisted twin lion porcelain pillow, white glaze green color roll mouth drum belly bottle bottom porcelain pot, yellow glaze lotus petal roll mouth Jade Bi bottom porcelain pot.
