Yizhuxiang, the name of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the whole plant of Rubiaceae plant Patrinia Patrinia < ihedotis capituligera < / I Hance. It is distributed in Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou and other provinces. It has the effect of clearing away heat and blood stasis, anti inflammation and bone grafting. Commonly used in hepatitis, rheumatism, bone pain, acute conjunctivitis, eye redness and swelling. External use for unknown swelling, fracture, trauma and bleeding.

Collect the whole grass in summer and autumn, remove the soil and sundries, and use it fresh or dry in the sun.

morphological character

Erect herb, 60-80 cm high; stem nearly solitary, lower part cylindrical, upper part slightly square columnar, sparsely villous. Leaves opposite, shortly stipitate, membranous, oblong lanceolate, 4.5-7.5 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, obtuse or slightly acuminate at both ends, margin ciliate, glabrous or sparsely puberulent above, glabrous below except for short setae on veins; lateral veins 6 on each side, very slender, conspicuous on both sides of leaf blade, protruding upward at an acute angle with midvein; stipules 3-4 mm long, apically divided into 2-4 Bristles. Flowers 4, nearly sessile, a few dense into a small head, and then arranged into terminal compound cymes, with long pedicels; calyx 1.5-3 mm long, glabrous, calyx tube spherical, calyx eaves lobes small, angular; corolla white, funnel-shaped, throat hirsute, corolla lobes obtuse; stamens and styles are protruding outside the corolla tube. The capsule is oblate, and it splits into two valves at maturity. The ventral part of the valve splits straight, with several seeds in it. The flowering period is from July to August.
