Zhongfeng cave

Zhongfeng cave, also known as Foguang cave, is honored as "the first cave in the world" by Professor Zhu Xuewen, President of China karst cave Association. It is inscribed by Lu yaoru, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering and geologist with the inscription "beautiful cave, magnificent and magical". It is known as a rare "underground karst Museum" for its geological structure of shale, sandstone and limestone, which integrates magnificence, beauty, danger, beauty, wonder and seclusion.

Development history

Geologists have proved that Zhongfeng cave was in a stable terrigenous coastal environment during the Sinian period 700 million years ago. From the Cambrian 500 million years ago to the end of Triassic 200 million years ago, it experienced four times of sea immersion and regression, forming Cambrian clastic carbonate formation with a thickness of more than 1000 meters and Upper Triassic argillaceous and continental clastic coal bearing formation with a thickness of 500 meters. During the Jurassic period 190 million years ago, the crust of this area rose and became a continental fold belt, which determined its geological structure. Since then, these carbonate based geological structures have formed many magical karst, rift and funnel landforms under the long-term dissolution of surface and groundwater. Zhongfeng cave is a young underground cave. About 25 million years ago. Due to the rapid rise of the earth's crust and the strong undercutting of rivers, the original underground rivers lost water for a long time, resulting in neotectonic movement, namely karst movement, and finally formed the karst caves we saw, such as Rushi, Tiankeng, floor drain, Shiya, shale, sand beach, Rift Valley and underground river. It is also because Zhongfeng cave is still very young, which completely reflects all the above geological formations and the whole process of karst landform development, so it is known as "world Karst Geological Museum" by geologists.

Zhongfeng cave is a unique "nuoshui cave". The wonderful "nuoshui cave", the primitive and deep "Linjiang gorge" and the "empty mountain basin" complement each other, forming the famous nuoshui river national scenic spot.

Main attractions

The total length of the cave is 15 kilometers and the area is about 200000 square meters. There is a 1600 meter electric train tunnel at the entrance of the cave. There are three floors in the cave, namely the lower, middle and upper floors, which are interlinked with each other. There are ten scenic spots and 108 important scenic spots, such as "Ba people's customs" and "Buddha's light". There are five main roads, 12 alleys, seven halls, three parks, an underground river and Donghai, which is more than 10000 square meters for boating in the middle level There are more than 1000 meters of plank road behind.
