Shenyang University of science and technology originated from the Industrial School of the Military Industry Department of the Northeast military region of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. It was founded in 1948. Shenyang Institute of technology was founded in 1960. Comrade Dong Biwu, then vice president of the state, inscribed the name of the school. The name of the school was changed several times and went through many changes. In 1999, it was put under the management of Liaoning Province and jointly built by the province and ministry. In May 2004, it was renamed Shenyang University of technology with the approval of the Ministry of education. In March 2010, Liaoning Provincial People's government signed an agreement with China National Ordnance Equipment Corporation and China National Ordnance Industry Corporation to jointly build Shenyang University of technology.

The origin of the predecessor

Shenyang first chemical industry school

In 1948, the Industrial School of the Military Industry Department of the Northeast military region was established.

In June 1950, the Industrial School of the Military Industry Department of the Northeast military region was renamed the Industrial School of the Military Industry Bureau; in July 1950, the school was renamed the Northeast military industry school.

In July 1951, the Northeast military engineering school was renamed northeast military engineering special school.

In March 1953, the Ordnance Engineering Major of northeast ordnance engineering school moved to Beijing Institute of technology; Northeast ordnance engineering school changed its name to civil engineering and Construction Technology School of the second Ministry of mechanical industry (Shenyang); in September, the school changed its name to northeast construction engineering school; in October, the school was transferred to the central construction engineering department.

In February 1955, the Northeast construction engineering school was renamed the second technical school.

In May 1956, the second technical school was renamed Shenyang first chemical industry school.

 

Shenyang Machinery Manufacturing Industrial School

In March 1953, northeast technical school was established.

In March 1954, northeast technical school changed its name to northeast third technical school.

In August 1955, the third northeast industrial school was renamed Shenyang second industrial school.

In April 1956, Shenyang No.2 Industrial school was renamed Shenyang Machinery Manufacturing Industrial school.

 

Shenyang First Industrial School

In June 1961, the Chemical Engineering Department of secondary technical school affiliated to Shenyang Institute of technology was established as Shenyang first chemical industry school.

In December 1965, Shenyang No.1 mechanical industry school was merged into Shenyang No.1 Industrial school.

In June 1969, Shenyang first industrial school was transformed into a state-owned Xianfeng machinery factory.

In December 1971, the state-owned Xianfeng machinery factory was renamed the fifth branch of the state-owned northeast machinery factory.

In July 1972, the fifth branch of the state-owned northeast machinery factory was transformed into the state-owned northeast Machinery Factory Industrial school.

In March 1978, the state-owned northeast Machinery Factory Industrial school was renamed Shenyang No.1 Industrial school.

 

Merger development

In April 1960, Shenyang first chemical industry school and Shenyang Machinery Manufacturing Industry School merged to form Shenyang Institute of technology.

From 1962 to 1963, the University Department of Shenyang Institute of technology moved to Taiyuan Institute of machinery.

In June 1963, Shenyang Institute of technology changed its name to Shenyang first mechanical industry school.

In April 1965, Shenyang First School of mechanical industry was renamed Shenyang Institute of technology.

In July 1969, Shenyang Institute of technology was transformed into a state-owned Jinsong machinery factory.

In January 1972, the state-owned Jinsong machinery factory was transformed into Shenyang Machinery Industry School.

In January 1979, Shenyang Institute of mechanical technology was renamed Shenyang Institute of technology again.

In June 1988, Shenyang No.1 Industrial school was merged.

In May 2004, Shenyang Institute of technology changed its name to Shenyang University of technology.

 

In March 2010, Liaoning Provincial People's government signed an agreement with China National Ordnance Equipment Corporation and China National Ordnance Industry Corporation to jointly build Shenyang University of technology.

In 2011, the University was approved by the Ministry of education as a pilot University of excellent engineer education and training plan.

In 2016, the State Administration of science, technology and industry for national defense and Liaoning Provincial People's Government jointly built Shenyang University of technology.
