Beaver Island

Yeli island is the nearest island to Zhuhai City. It is located between Xianglu Bay and Xiangzhou Bay in the east of Zhuhai City. It is connected with downtown area by Haiyan bridge. The lighting design throughout Yeli island is based on the theme of mountain, sea and human. The road lighting on the island is mainly lawn lamp. Lawn lamp is combined with leisure seat. It is a seat in the daytime and becomes lawn lamp at night.

Beaver Island

Yeli Island, also known as "MINGTING Park", is located in the east of Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. It is the nearest island to Zhuhai City. It is 400 meters away from the mainland in the West and 1.5 kilometers away from lingjiaozui in the south. It covers an area of 0.291 square kilometers. Zhuhai opera house is located on this island.

On May 1, 2018, yeludao Park, the "City mountain and sea park", was officially reopened to the public after a year of partial closure.

Development history

Yeli island construction project started on October 10, 2007 and completed on December 24, 2007. The project includes the construction of a 3.5km long leisure Island Road, a 3km long hiking trail, an ecological parking lot that can accommodate about 250 vehicles, as well as toilets, municipal pipelines, road lighting projects and related greening facilities. As a link between Yeli island and Lovers Road, the 340 meter Haiyan bridge has also been repaired.

The landscape lighting project of Yeli Island Park is one of the largest mountain lighting projects in China. The lighting design scheme throughout Yeli island is based on the theme of "mountain, sea and people". The whole design follows the nature and is divided into three parts: "entrance, Haiyan bridge and Island Lighting"; the Island Lighting is divided into two parts: road lighting and mountain lighting; the island road lighting is mainly lawn lighting The lawn lamp is combined with the leisure seat. It is a seat during the day and a lawn lamp at night.

According to the Zhuhai City Master Plan (2001-2020), Yeli island is positioned as an urban island scenery park. In the Zhuhai Xiangzhou tourism terminal concept plan, it is proposed that a civic cultural center, including the Grand Theater, will be built in the Yeli Island reclamation area in the long term. According to a preliminary plan, the related landscape areas of the whole road around Yeli island are also planned, including art gallery area, ecological protection area, music bar cabin area, Tanshi Tingfeng area, etc., but these goals will be put on the later construction. The focus of the first phase project is to build roads and hiking trails, so that Yeli island can "get close" to the public as soon as possible.

According to the "Zhuhai xiangluwan yeludao environmental improvement plan" and the municipal government's goal of "building yeludao into an urban mountain park", yeludao park landscape construction project officially started in mid April 2017. The landscape construction area of the project is about 250000 square meters. The construction contents mainly include two park service centers, four storm proof corridors, three new toilets, as well as scenic sketches, landscaping, street lamps, safety supervision, square footpath, seawall guardrail, etc. the total estimated investment of the project is about 80 million yuan. On May 1, 2018, after a whole year of local closure, yeludao Park, the "City mountain and sea park", was officially opened to the public.

Zhuhai opera house, the only opera house in China to be built on an island, started construction on April 28, 2010. The site is located on the seashore of Yeli island. It is unique because of the sea and the wind. The planned land area of the project is 50000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 50000 square meters. The main structure was capped on December 29, 2013. Zhuhai opera house is equipped with Haiyun city commercial complex, International Movie City, boutique bookstore, cross-border supermarket, theme bar, special food, children's paradise, cultural and creative arts, fashion trend and other commercial facilities. It not only brings together romantic leisure of lovers' road, but also combines the elegant atmosphere of Zhuhai Opera house and the ecological sea view of Yeli island It has become a multi format, multi-functional, one-stop marine leisure, entertainment and tourism experience center. Because of its unique geographical location, Haiyun City, Zhuhai opera house and Yeli island have become an aesthetic landmark integrating culture, tourism and entertainment in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

The origin of place names

It is said that a long time ago, the villagers of Shanchang village had a grave in fengboshan. The lion and the beaver were fighting to eat the meat in front of the grave. The two wild animals were fighting with each other. They were bleeding all over. It was not until the crow of the fourth watch that he left. The fight between the lion and the beaver for sacrificial meat soon spread all over Shanchang village. Some old people in the village thought it was a bad omen. After discussion, they decided to put two stone pillars in front of the grave to suppress the fighting of wild animals. These two stone pillars are chiseled with charms and are fixed on both sides of the tomb, one facing east and the other facing west. From then on, the two beasts no longer came to the tomb to fight for food. Many years later, both the lion and the beaver died. The lion turned into a hill, lying at the foot of the storm, called Shishan. The wild beaver turns into another mountain lying on the sea, facing the lion across the bank, which is called the wild beaver mountain. This island is called the wild beaver Island, hence its name.

Yeli mountain rises from the sea and is tens of meters high. It is the highest mountain on Yeli island. It confronts the lion mountain on the shore, just like two fighting beasts. Coupled with the never quiet sea, it makes Xiangzhou full of vitality.
